Default Sarah's excuse

I know in the last season Sara Gilbert didn't appear a lot because she was probably finishing up college and John Goodman had other committments since he thought season 8 would be the last. But what was Sarah Chalke's reason for being in only 6 episodes with 10 second appearances? She was in pretty much a lot of season 6 then in season 7 she started to cut down on episodes but season 9 was worse.

I think with season 9, the focus of the show shifted more to "the wacky duo of Roseanne and Jackie". Which I think was good in the long run because the season revolved around Roseanne.

In season 9, there were so many characters to revolve around that they couldn't cram everyone into every episode. Becky was pretty much unimportant in season 9. I wish that the series had ended with season 8. Even though the last episode pretty much explains season 9, it was still a waste of a season.

I think that is why Sarah Chalke was in only a few eps, there was the opportunity character wise, Mark was around enough, Becky could have been too.

I'd say she was busy and returned to the show when she was free.

I read that Sarah Chalke as Becky didnt do as well with fans.. so they cut the character out..that is why she was not in the ep.

What I thought was strange was when the Conners went to that vineyard, and Sara Gilbert was not present and Sarah Chalke was present. I keep thinking there could have been some witty sarcastic mouthing from Sara Gilbert in that episode. :P

No, I haven't, but I ought to remember to check it out. I like when little things like this become visibly noticeable. It shows which areas of any given episode had a take.
