Helen and Antonio's wedding

I was watching it this morning. I love these two episodes I think Helen and Antonio are so funny together.

Antonio- "It's like we've been married 10 years already."

I like this episode, too. Siaconset Sal?? Are you telling me that was the best Brian could've done? Then again, this is Antonio we're talking about. I know the whole point was that Antonio's lovelife was pretty bad, so somebody like Siaconset Sal would be somebody so typical for Antonio.

Funny parts for me--when Roy & Sal are sitting next to each other at the wedding, and Sal says to him about him not remembering them hooking up on New Year's Eve, and he says that was long ago and he was young & vunerable and she says It was last New Year's Eve!!

Then Lowell catching the garter and that big lumberjack guy catching the bouquet. You can definitely hear the live audience howling with laughter.

And of course, the scene in Helen's bathroom. I know I've mentioned this recently but Lowell's line, "Antonio, caught you on the hopper, eh?" and Lowell is trying to shield his eyes to keep from looking at Antonio on the toilet. I always thought that line was funny. Now we use the word "hopper" instead of toilet at our house!!

Something I've always thought about this episode though--I'm looking at this realistically--OK, Helen & Antonio were investigated by the INS agent, after getting married, they find out about the green card lottery, he gets his green card, then they get divorced. Don't you think INS would've caught on? Of course, we find out later on that they never did get divorced at the time, but at the time of this episode, we didn't know that.

I know, I'm looking too much into this. I always do!

yeah! The weird thing is that I had never thought about that before until I was watching the episode this time, which is like, the 4th time I've seen it, and I was thinking to myself, "hmmm.... isn't the government going to get suspicious if they get a divorce now, right away?"
it's funny that it took me 4 times of seeing those episodes for me to figure that out, though....lol

and yeah, I like those episodes a lot. part 2 is the best though. That scene is really hilarious in the bathroom. hahaha.
Another part that was funny was when Brian made Joe call the woman whose number was on the matchbook that he found in his pocket, and they put her on speakerphone, and they kept having to slam on the mute button, and look at eachother and say, "oooooh!" haha I always thought that was funny. there was that one time where the audience was laughing for such a long time that they stood there with that "ooooh." look on their faces for a while, before the audience was quiet enough for them to actually say "ooooh!" and it almost looked like they were going to start laughing, themselves, because of how much the audience was laughing. lol

Yes, I love that "ooooh!" scene....especially the part you mention where it looks like the guys are going to crack up laughing....Tim and Steven look like they're really having FUN doing that scene!

I've always thought about that too. They probably should have planned on staying married a little longer. That probably would have been a funny few episodes!

I also noticed that Helen had zero problem with lying to the Government in this episode, but in the episode where Joe and Brian planned on defrauding the insurance agency, she had a serious problem with that. Aren't those two incidents basically the same thing: lying to the US Government? I would also think that what Helen and Antonio did was a bit more serious and had greater consenquences than what Joe and Brian tried to do.
