Default Todd

This may sound really corny, but I've been really depressed lately. I don't really feel like explaining what happened yesterday, so I'm just posting the e-mail I sent to everyone close to me.

Hi everyone,

I know that some of you probably know by now, but today I received some very
upsetting news.

My dog, Todd Nicholas, died of a heart failure on April 24, 2004 at exactly 8:01 pm. I was at a baby's first birthday party, and at about 7:30,
I was called home, and when I went, my parents told me we were going to take him to the emergency room because apparently, he just totally collapsed on
the ground. We assumed it was a reaction to the shot he had gotten earlier, but it wasn't. As soon as we got to the emergency room, he began to cough
and cough, and a vet took him back. We walked into the room the nurse directed us into, and once we got there, the doctor told us he wasn't in very good condition, and that they were doing all they could. He went back, and we sat there, incredibly worried.

A few moments later, the doctor came back and told us that he passed away on his own. So basically, he made his own decision to go, so that we wouldn't
have to make the choice for him.

I know a lot of you probably don't care because you think he was "just a dog," but Todd wasn't really just a dog. He was our friend. We'd spent 10 years together, and now he's gone.

So... if you got to school with me, I might not be the same person I once was. It's hard to lose someone you love so much, I'm sure most of you know. Todd's with us right now. I hate to say that I laugh when I say this, but he's in the refridgerator in the basement, lying in a box. And Blondie knows he's gone. She's pretty upset, too. But she's trying hard to be "the only pet" now.

I'm not sure if Todd will be replaced, but I don't really want to think about that right now. I guess that as time goes by, we'll make that decision. But, obviously Todd will never be replaced.

So bascially, the point is, my dog died, I only have one left, and my life sucks.

Proud EO shipper. *sigh* How did that happen?

Isn't it ironic?
Don't you think?

I'm sorry to hear!

I know how it is. I felt the same way when I lost my bird(s) and I had them over ten years, too. It's hard and you'll need some time to get used to it but it'll get better. He's always in your heart.

Hope you feel a little better soon!
