What shows did you not like originally -- but they eventually became some of your favorites??

M*A*S*H, I didn't like it when I first watched it, now I love it! The original Star Trek, never liked it, now I like it, but I wouldn't say I love it

Cheers - For years I bashed that show. Now I like it. It's not in my top ten list or anything, but I can see why people like it.

Sliders - My sister was a fan, but I couldn't stand the show. Now it's my second favorite Sci-Fi show (Quantum Leap is my first).

The Dick Van Dyke Show - I never hated it, but I never loved it either. Now, since the DVDs have come out, it's one of my favorites.

Friends. I saw it the night it premiered (as I was a fan of Mad About You and Seinfeld which were also on Thursday nights) and while I liked Courteney Cox, I remember thinking "this show won't last the season". And I kinda stayed away from it but then one night towards the end of the season, I saw another episode, and LOVED IT. And I spent the remainder of the season and the summer of 1995 getting acquainted with the show, and have been a fan for 9 years

Sex And The City. Wasn't wild about it the first time I saw it, then later on I caught bits and pieces of a few episodes and started really liking the show.

Buffy. I saw an episode in the first (worst) season, and thought "this is so cheesy, why did they make a series out of the movie?", but then heard so much about it during season 2 and season 3, so midway into season 3, I watched it again, to find out that it was an excellent series, and have been hooked ever since

ER. My girlfriend watched the show every week and I'd leave the room to find something else to do while she watched it. Hated it. But for some reason, in season 7, I got interested in it and now it's one of my favorite shows. Luckily I've been able to catch up on the first 6 seasons with reruns and DVDs.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Saw one episode years ago not long after it first premiered on The WB and thought it was terrible. Never watched it again until a really good friend of mine convinced me to start watching it on FX in April 2003. Now I'm a huge fan of it, as well as it's spin off Angel.

Hogan's Heroes. I thought it was stupid and it made no sense.

I couldn't stand Futurama at first, but now I like it.

I didn't care for Everybody Loves Raymond at first, then I grew to like it, but now I don't like it any more.

CHEERS - got into it in 1988 after earlier seasons had gone into syndication.
STAR TREK: TNG - same thing..not until 1991 when older episodes were on twice a day.

Then there are the opposites..shows which I enjoyed from day one, but somewhere along the line lost interest.

Murphy Brown
Frasier
Home Improvement
Mad About You
Ally McBeal
Designing Women
Chicago Hope
Cheers - yes it makes both lists...the last 2 years they were just going throug the motions.

Barney Miller..I USED to hate this show when it was on it's original air time, now I enjoy it while before I thought it was too dry and boring.....
