It's probably not fair for me to answer since I've never seen Futurama, but I grew up on the Jetsons, so that'd be the one I pick.

I like both (Jetsons more) but Jetsons is something that I could probably watch with my nieces and nephew. Futurama......well, that's more adult.

Default Why not the jetsons!

The Jetsons! Now THAT was a cool cartoon. I even plunked down my long green for the DVD and I enjoyed it! That show is a classic.
I mean, 'the Jetsons" was way ahead of its time with its inventions and everything else, even though it was 1962 and it was supposed to take place right in this century. Some of the stuff they used is used today: video phones, internet, walkways, computerized cars, treadmills, computers. Yep, we might not have flying cars or have houses that can avoid inclement weather and float in the air like it does in the cartoon, but we do have the little stuff. Plus, the unforgettable characters George, Jane, Elroy (Roy Boy), Judy, Astro, and Rosie the "ro-butt" maid (using Jane's pronounciation. Janet Waldo laughed about it in the commentary that she did for the first two episodes of the DVD set.)

Oh man, I liked the first 24 episodes from the 1960's, but I would kill to have the 1980's episodes in my possession. That era was the appropriate time for new "Jetsons" episodes because they were more in tune with the 1980's technology. Ah man, The Jetsons.

I love both. But The Jetsons get my vote. Simple plots, simple humor - but PERFECT!

It's funny to see how people of the sixties pictured the future. I'm sure one day, people will be looking back at Futurama and think how funny people from the early 2000's pictured the future is.

Now I own Season 1 of "The Jetsons" but I still like "Futurama" more. I just laugh harder when I see Bender as opposed to Rosie. Fry makes me laugh more than George. But of course, I'm comparing the Jetsons to one of my favorite shows, so it's really not fair. If I only liked both shows, then it would be a closer match.

Cool

I voted for The Jetsons. I grew up on Hanna Barbera cartoons and if comes down to a choice between an HB cartoon and another cartoon I'll take HB every time. I also much prefer the Lovable Rosie over Bender.
