On a scale from 1 to 10, I give him a 7. He is smart and he always lays down the law to Willis and Arnold, but I think he could have been more strict to Kimberly. She like, got away with everything. I mean, going out with a much older guy late at night and sneaking out, come on! He didn't even ground her.

Oh...I don't know, he sure as hell was pissed off when he finally realized what was going on. Usually Mr. D is pretty cool....I'd give him an 8 or a 9.

I think in Diff'rent Strokes he was good. In real life I don't think he wasw all that great a friend/dad to them. I'd give him a 9 on the show & 0 in real life.

It seemed he was more strict with Willis and Arnold and not Kimberly! Like in that episode where she went skiing with that guy....i thought he was gonna be more strict than he actually was in that ep! So anyways, i give him a 6 or 7 in other words....6.5

He's A MILLIONAIRE. That really does'nt make sense because a MILLIONAIRE owns a big house and he owns a small apartment!

8 or a 9. He thinks of himself as a stern father but he folds like a poker game. He was ready to kill Arnold just for smoking, yet he let Willis off with a warning when Willis was smoking the doobage!! What a great dad!

Mr. Drummond was NOT a bad father. He was a good man and Arnold and Willis really needed that guidance when they had none at all. From the start, Mr. D made sure that just because they were rich, he wouldn't let his money rule over him when it comes to taking care of kids, but he did give them a hand when they were in a jam that they couldn;t get out of themselves. Mr. Drummond was like the Ward Cleaver of Park Avenue. I think he fulfilled Mrs. Jackson's last request well. She would have been proud of him.
But anyway, Mr. D was a good father to those boys. He was always there when you needed him and he gave you advice on life and how to live in a world you can't always trust. He never let Arnold and Willis (and later Sam) get away with anything and he taught them how to solve their own problems, if they couldn't see the forest for the trees. I wish I had a father like him. |
