Default Steve Douglas or Danny Tanner

Which single widowed father you would prefer. Steve Douglas, My Three Sons, was a widower with three boys to raise with his wife's father helping out as the housekeeper and afterwards his brother stepped in as the housekeeper. Danny Tanner, Full House, was a widower raising three girls with the help of his borther-in-law and his best friend stepping in to help.

Those two shows were very similar in many ways with different twists and spins to it.

If I had a choice I would preferred Steve Douglas. He is more grounded and very wise in his parenting and dealing with life.

Danny Tanner is too out there in wanting cleaniness and putting too tight of a rein on his daughters. He seems out of touch with many things especially his rambling grates on my nerves.

Steven Douglas because Full House and Danny Tanner are so nauseating to watch.
My Three Sons was a better and more realistic show.

No contest in my mind - it has to be Steve Douglas! True, he was a little "bumbling" at times, but I think he was still a very capable and level-headed head of the household.

Danny Tanner just drove me nuts! (Sorry, Full House fans!) For one thing, I have never met a "straight" guy who was that obsessed with housecleaning! For another, the fact that it took two other adults besides him to take care of the house and the kids (later on, three adults - with Rebecca) seems to imply that he wasn't capable of handling three little girls by himself (yeah, I know he had to work full-time - but still...)

To me, he just came across as pretty clueless when it came to taking care of the kids, and it was annoying! (Again, don't mean to offend any fans of the show!) That being said - I did watch it each week when it originally aired, and was a fan myself - just didn't care for that character, that's all.

I like Danny Tanner. I like the show itself better.
