I created this thread to talk about possible NBA trades this summer. I begin with a possible trade involving my New York Knicks.
Reported by the NBA Insider. Tracy McGrady, SG, Magic Tracy McGrady Shooting Guard Orlando Magic Profile 2003-2004 SEASON STATISTICS GM PPG RPG APG FG% FT% 67 28.0 6.0 5.5 .417 .796 Magic GM John Weisbrod knows T-Mac can opt out of his contract after next season and likely will do so if Weisbrod can't seriously upgrade the team this summer. Without cap space, tradeable assets or a crystal ball to divine Grant Hill's health, it's becoming clearer by the day that the Magic may have no choice but to trade T-Mac now, while they can still get value back in return. McGrady says he doesn't want to leave Orlando, but right now winning is more important. If Weisbrod can't make some miracles happen this summer, look for the Magic to shift gears and attempt to get two or three young prospects (preferably a center and a point guard) in return for McGrady.Odds of trading T-Mac: 3-to-1 The Knicks could trade Houston, Sweetny, and Williams for T-Mac. Sweetny and Williams are young prospects at the positions the Magic are looking for. But the Magic have to take Houston back to match the contracts, and open up the shooting guard position. Though I would hate to trade Sweetny, but if you can get T-Mac, if you could make this trade, you have to do it, if you are the Knicks. |

That's not a trade even worth discussing. Sweetney and Williams are average and Houston who makes 100 million is only above average. That trade would never happen. Not for a superstar like McGrady. Let's get real.

Funny, all of my fellow Knick fans don't want to include Sweetny in a trade package for McGrady.

I agree, you have to give something up to get something.

I said in my opening post the source that reported that the Magic is shopping McGrady around, and what kinds of players they are looking for is from the NBA Insider.
The purposed Knick/Magic trade, is a trade I purposed. |

I'd rather toss in Harrington before I would Sweetney. I would even include NORRIS...BUT NOT THE SWEETMAN.

If i was Tracy McGrady, i wouldn't even wanna come to New York. The Knicks are terrible. The Nets exploited them so bad.
