Talking Call in Sick

How often do you call in sick to work. Or stay home from school? Even though you might not be sick.

I never stay home from school...ever...I did a lot last year because of depression issues and being afraid to go to school, but I'm fine now. Even if I feel crappy I'll go, but I'm usually fine anyway. Plus, it's too hard to miss school.

When I was in school, I hardly ever called in sick.

I only ever miss school when I am really sick. It is hard to catch up with the work and I miss my friends, so it is worth going even when I am a little sick.

I never like having to miss school. I've been pretty good about being in class the past few years. In 11th grade I didn't miss a single day of the school year. The next year I missed a few days. The first one or two because I was on vacation and I missed another for the same reason. I missed another day because I got sick and I missed the last day of school for a good reason: it was the day after Grad Nite.

The only day of college I missed was because I was really ill. It was in November.

Whenever I can get away with it. Just kidding! I haven't missed school this month, though.

When I was in high school, I was pretty good about not missing school...I did have to miss the occasional day of school for other reasons. My senior year was CRAZY. Absolutely CRAZY. May was just crazy. I had an appointment one day during the school day where I had to go to Grand Forks (the same town Dru Sjodin disappeared from). The drive there is 90 minutes long, and the appointment was ALL day. After I was done, I crammed in some shopping at the mall there and by the time I got home, it was about 7 at night (I'd left at 7 in the morning). The same week, I had ANOTHER appointment that took up half the day. THEN I had to miss two more days because of my senior trip to Minneapolis. And the whole last week of school up to my graduation was INSANE. I had to be done w/ finals early so then I wouldn't have to come in on the scheduled time, because I would be too busy.

AND, in December (this is still my senior year we're talking about), I missed TWO FREAKING WEEKS OF SCHOOL because I got VERY sick. As in near-death ill. I didn't think I was going to make it, because I had nausea EVERY DAY for 14 straight days and I had ZERO energy -- it was such a chore just walking 20 feet to the bathroom alone! I would be out of breath by the time I got to the bathroom...then I had to walk back and lay down...Ugh. I lost 10 pounds when I got sick because I was barely eating anything. THAT was the sickest I've EVER been and I hope I never get that sick again. Yep, you guessed it -- I was making up homework well through the finals in January!! Not fun!

i fake sick when i really want to go home. it's really easy. i just go to the office and say im feeling sick so they write me a pass and i go home. i used to go through all this trouble making myself pale and making my forehead hot but all i really have to do is say i feel nauseus or something.

Same here. Last year though, I got this really bad virus and was sick for a whole week. I couldn't imagine doing that this year- there's just too much work I'd have to make up.

School sucks.

My parents used to let me skip occasionally. Maybe once every 9 weeks, then maybe 1 or 2 doctor/dentist appointments as well(Oh god, I HATED the Dentist and Orthodonist), had to go to Ortho every 6 weeks to get my braces tightened. I'm so glad to have them things off now.

I only call in sick to work when I'm really sick, but I did fake being sick when I was at school.

When I was in school, I faked a few times. Now that I'm working, it's a rare thing.
