One guy was complaining about filth and midlessness on TV and the other guy who worked for a TV network said something to the effect "we only program what you people ask!" Then the other guy said "I didn't ask for Mork and Mindy!"

Dietrich and Wojo also mentioned the show "Wanted Dead or Alive" where Steve McQueen played a bounty hunter. This was in the episode where a bounty hunter showed up in the precint.

Default kotter mentioned

"Welcome Back Kotter" was mentioned on the episode which is on the total cereal dvd in which the disgruntled teacher expresses disgust for the show because of the kids he has to face at work.

The teacher mentioned the show, none of the characters did...But it would be cool if Harris and Washington were buds, or related in some way...

In one episode (perhaps "Liquidation") Harris says he's going to submit a script to "Palmerstown" which was a CBS series from 1980-81.

In "Homicide," in the conversation with Kotterman in the cell, M*A*S*H and Trapper John MD are mentioned.

Palmerstown USA was a show on CBS that lasted about 2 seasons; it started Jonelle Allen and an unknown comic at the time, Michael J. Fox...

As for the type of genre the show was, I would put in the drama/family catergory
