Default The and1 mixtapes...

...The new ones are pretty expensive, but I heard the earlier ones are better anyway, so if I was gonna buy some/one, which ones would be best? I think of my handles as the best part of my game, so I want to continue to learn new moves.

I haven't seen any of the And1 mixtapes but i've seen it a few times on MTV. I don't like street ballers who play like that & do all that fancy dribblin. I also don't like it when they pretend like they're gonna pass the ball & they still have the ball in their hands when their opponent looks to see who they threw the ball to. Then they take the ball & throw it at that person to let them know that they still got the ball in their hands. I got faked out like that before & i was embarrassed. Most of those guys who are street ballers never play in the pros anyway cause they don't like to play organized basketball where you're not allowed to do all that fancy stuff. Raefer Alston is the only street baller who's in the NBA who always plays in those And1 competitions.

That's why I balance out my basketball with watching local collegiate games and reading books on fundamentals, as well as practicing street-syle handles and fakeouts and playing street rules with my friends. I got faked out a lot a couple of years ago cuz, lol, I was a little white boy who tried to play with the big guys; they called me McCauly Culken and faked me out all the time and always made me look stupid. I just used it as motivation to get better.

Lol, one time, one of the guys was talking some trash at me and said something like, "How we gonn' play dis, lil' Timmy?" and I retorted with something like, "I don't know, you tell me, Jamal". (My name isn't Timmy and his isn't Jamal) We both laughed and are friends to this day when we're playing ball, and he notes that I have gotten much better.

LOL@they called u Macaulay Caulkin hahahahahahahahahahaha. I don't get upset when people talk trash to me. One time this black boy & i played one on one basketball cause he was talkin s**t all day at our job talkin about he could beat me & i told him he couldn't. So we played 3 games & he beat me twice out of 3. He was talkin trash during 2 of the games & i started talkin trash back to him. Usually when a person talks trash to me, i ignore it but this time i couldn't ignore him for some reason. I don't like gettin beat one on one but i'm the type that if i lose, i don't get upset. It's just a game. My brother is the biggest crybaby i know when it comes to losing LOL. One time when my brother & i were teenagers, our neighbors across the street from us played us in a 2 on 2 basketball game, brothers vs brothers. I think we played them 3 games & my brother & i won 2 games out of 3. When our neighbors won the last game, they were so excited they ran in the house saying yeah yeah we won hahahahahahahaha. My brother got upset at me when we went in the house cause he blames me for losing LOL. I wasn't paying him any attention. Our neighbors weren't that good anyway so they got lucky & beat us one game, no big deal. My brother also gets upset when he plays video games. He used to play NBA games a lot on Sega Genesis back in the day & he would get upset when he would lose to the video game LOL. I never get upset when i lose. I look at it as just a game. If i was in the NBA playing & i lost some games, i wouldn't get upset like these players be doing. U got these players who always complain to the refs like some big babies when they need to shut up & just play ball.

Yeah, the NBA players always act like it was someone else's fault, never their own. Have you ever seen Dirk Nowizki (Oh yeah, last Friday, some guys were calling me Dirk, lol) on D? He almost always gets pushed down, makes a frown on his face and starts yelling "foul". My Dad calls him a big baby for it.

ISIAH...if someone played you in front of others or as you say embarrased you then hey..thats the way of the world. Don't hold a grudge against all AND1 ball players for your lack of common sense. Rafer is not the only ballplayer from the AND1 circuit. Maybe you didn't know this but the AND1 circuit got all the starting players from RUCKER. I saw Stephon , Ron Artest, Kobe Bryant all play up at RUCKER park. Lebron was there but because its sponsor is reebok he was not allowed to play(put on a reebok jersey). The NBDL is where you find junk compared to RUCKER or the AND1 ballplayers. The only reason the street ball players are at a disadvantage is because they dont practice together. How come none of the NBA players where able to beat MAXIE ..he gave Peterson (Phoenix) the business. Battledome...a one on one game for big big money. I can recall at the park where THE PREDATOR vs ANTHONY MASON matchup drew attention...MASON was scurred to play. Did you know that MOUSEY one of the coaches also has a direct line to get someone a NBA tryout. Barkley from ST> JOhns..thats the only reason he got to PORTLAND.
Take the AND1 for what it is...entertainment. The stats are not kept. But, Jo Hammond once scored 70 in a game. LEGENDARY

I finally figured this and1 stuff out:

I have really good handles*, and I can do most of the tricks I see done on courts, and I'm an okay faker and very quick. But, I can never seem to pull off any ankle-breakers or make anyone back down away from me on a fake/fake cross-over. The only time I AM able to do things like this is when I go against people less skilled and shorter than me. So, that's how the and1 people, and the other guys I play with are good at those tricks; they are simply taller than the people they're embarassing with the moves.

*I'm talkin' street-style stuff here, not official stuff.

[/end rant]
