That's why I stopped dying my hair in 2001. Never again.

It can't be THAT bad. I always dye my hair bymyself, and even if it doesn't come out the way I want it to, I always find a way to fix it. Highlights, however, I'll always let a professional do. I don't even want to try and do it myself. But if it's my whole head, I'll do it myself. Take a pic and post it. Making this thread left me curious as to why you don't like the color.

I had someone highlight my hair once- it came out really nice...but the growing out part was NOT fun.

This will probably sound like a dumb question, but did you get a color that would suit your hair? Cause some hair colors can come out darker or lighter than you think, depends on the color you use, and the color of your hair.

What does it look like exactly? Personally, I like weird hair colours. But if you hate it, I can see why you'd miss a day of school 'til it gets changed.

How come you didn't just dye all your hair your natural hair colour after it was starting to grow out?

I did. I highlighted it in August 2001 and then dyed over it in October 2001 (the last time I dyed my hair). You could STILL see some highlights. It's gone now, though...

Oh I see. That grow out is such a pain. I actually had my hair dyed my natural colour after highlights last year, but it isn't exactly my natural colour, so now that it has grown out several inches, it is starting to look noticable.

Me too. Why's it so bad, Chris?

My mom does my highlights. When I had a pro do it, 1/4 of my hair fell out, I swear. The only complaint I have is that it fades too damn quick. 6 months my ass.
