Thumbs up I just got rid of 29 viruses!

After weeks of hell with my computer, I was urged to get an anti-virus program. So, just about 20 minutes ago, I downloaded AVG 6.0. Ran the 12-minute virus test, and BAM! 29 infected files. And it healed the files in seconds! Why didn't I follow my pal's advice sooner?

Now, to see if my computer acts different wothout those viruses.

Oh, wow. Do you also have a Firewall? I have the McAfee Virus Scan and Firewall software on my computer. Anybody on the internet should have both.

I hate viruses, spam, trojans, and any other piece of crap that slows your computer down.

You should also do a daily scan on your computer for Ad-aware and Spyware. As they tend to slow you computer down as well. You should also make a daily habit to defrag your hard drive, Dan. It'll clean up any unnessary files that automatically build up when you're surfing the Internet.

I had 12 viruses alone in my Outlook Express email so I got rid of it. That was a couple years ago.

I'm glad that I don't use Outlook Express. It is always targeted by hackers and virus creators.

Last time I defraged, it took around 2 hours.

Okay, I have a question; How does spyware slow down your PC?

We don't use Outlook Express either. We use the mail server's webpage(Charter, our provider) and MSN Hotmail.
