Default The Knicks need a big name coach

To get the big name players the Knicks need. The Knicks should hire a big name coach, who attracts talent. A coach that players would take less money, and would kill their own mama to play for. The Bill Parcells of the NBA. Only two coaches fit the mood.

Pat Riley and Phil Jackson. Ok Isiah get me one of those two guys.

The funny thing about Phil is that do get him here, we need the big name talent, but I want the Knicks to hire him (as much as I dislike) to get big name talent, it is like the chicken and the egg.

It would be cool to get Phil Jackson. We also need to release some useless and crappy players like Kurt Thomas and Shandon Anderson. Kurt Thomas always shoots outside his range and he needs to score inside in the post. Shandon Anderson mostly recieves the ball from Starbury to score the fastbreak, but he always loses or misses it.

Philadelphia reporter Stephan A. Smith is purposing a three team trade with the Knicks getting Allen Iverson, the Sixers getting Tracy McGrady, and the Magic getting Houston.

The Magic would be crazy to take Houston, but if they are that stupid than I would leave Philadelphia out of this trade and get McGrady myself, because he and Marbury would work perfectly, Marbury and Iverson would not work.

I would trade Houston and Mutombo for McGrady and Hill. The Magic would love to get rid of Hill who's carrer is most likely over, the Knicks unlike most teams, and maybe unlike any other team have no problem taking Hill's contract. Mutombo has only one year left on his contract, and for some reason Stephan A. Smith thinks the Magic would take Houston.

If we had McGrady, I have no doubt Rasheed Wallace would come here for the mid level exeption, who wouldn't want to play with a Marbury/McGrady back court.

That is only if the Magic are crazy enough to take Houston. I am not sure if they are that crazy, but apprently Stephan A. Smith thinks so.

The Knicks already got a big name coach in Lenny Wilkens. Ain't nothin wrong with Lenny's coaching. He can't help it if the players he got suck. The Knicks are so wack. New Jersey should sweep them. The Knicks do need to get rid of those wack players they got. They shoot too many jumpers & they don't take it to the basket enough. Rex Chapman who is a TNT commentator now was talkin about that all night in game 2 of the Knicks & Nets game. He said the Knicks shoot the ball from the outside too much.

The players don't fear LENNY. He is too laid back for NEW YORK Players. We needed to get O'Brien or someone along those lines. Someone that will choke a player..*s*
Kurt Thomas shoots outside in order to get the defender to commit. Thats how you get in the paint. Not the other way around. You have to hit at least one jumper. Shandon Anderson is the junk of the ball. He should have on a dress and everything. If he where not a good defender he would be gone out of the league. Mutombo already said that if the KNICKS trade him rather than report to the other team he would retire.

It's to late for O'Brian, he is in Philadelphia. The disadvantage of making the playoffs is that the non playoff teams can hire a coach before you can.

The NBA and NFL should make a rule prohibiting interviewing and hiring coaches until after the playoffs. MLB has that rule for managers.

LOL@Shandon Anderson should be wearing a dress hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. U remember his twin brother Willie Anderson that used to play for the Spurs in the early 90's? He had a short career but he was good. What u mean Mutombo said he was gonna retire if the Knicks trade him after this season? I haven't heard him say that.

he said it this season. Thats why he is still here. You know him and Van HOrn have same agent. Isiah does not like the agent. I know thats not a good enough reason but this is a buisness and who ever holds the chips controls the game. Van Horn is always going to be viewed as a soft guy. At least Tim talks tough....calling Martin FUGAYZEE...

LOL at Tim talking tough, like I said he is doing it while he is SITTING ON THE BENCH, if he was a tough guy he wouldnt be sitting on the bench because of a 'contusion' he would tough it out. Like Martin said in his postgame interview you gotta play thru injuries come playoff time.

Lenny is the absolute wrong fit for the Knicks.
He should have retired after the Toronto debacle.

But let's not kid ourselves- the Knicks need players.

Marbury is overrated, always has been (please prove me wrong sometime soon Stephan), Houston is always banged up, Tim Thomas blows, Penny is spent, Mutumbo is spent- must I go on?

No need to tool on Kurt Thomas. His skills are limited but he always plays hard. He aint no spring chicken either though.

Isiah should stop and figure out a team and coach that will gel, not just putting names together.

The main point is that Stephan is not the team player or leader some people think he is.

Without naming names, are you saying that besides Kidd that Marbury had the best year at point?

Come on.

yes. He did. His assist where very high. Remember ..he didn't spend the entire season with the knicks to begin with.

He has inflated stats.
He is the high scorer on the Knicks, is that what you want from a point guard?

He has the best assists stat of the year but he is the high scorer on the team- that is not a problem?

I'd take Mike Bibby over him in a heartbeat.
Maybe even Tony Parker or Steve Nash.
Hell, even Payton runs the floor better than Stephan.
And what about Steve Francis?

I just think Stephan has always been about himself and does not know how to win, regardless of the talent around him- apparently he cannot elevate people's games like other point guards do.
