If anyone knows where I can get a copy of this segment, please let me know. It was about an unidentified male who died in a wreck in VA in 1995. I really need this. Thanks asap! Terri

It doesn't ring a bell. Can you give us any more information about the story?

It is about an unidentified boy who died hitchhiking, in car wreck in Emporia Virginia where the driver was killed and the hitchhiking guy. It was almost 9 yrs ago the wreck happened, the guy hasnt been id'd. He had been to a Grateful Dead Concert, and only had a note in his pocket that said "to Jason, sorry but we had to go, Caroline O. and Caroline T. " We are trying to find the two Carolines in order to find out his id. He was between 17-21 yrs old, redhead, brown eyes, 5'7 est. 169 est lbs. I was told the show featured the case, Feb 7 1997 looks to be the only one it could have been. Thanks again.

I don't remember seeing it '97, but they did feature it on one of the newer episodes of UM during the summer. It was very brief. They never mentioned him hitchhiking though. They just said he died in a car accident. Sorry I can't help. I don't think anyone can. It's been THIS long and they still haven't found out who this phone number belonged to. However someone mentioned on here they found out the number was from New York. I don't think they ever really tried hard enough to solve the case and by now it may be too late.

yeah I know. I posted flyers all across our area in NC back in 1996, sent it to newspapers around the states in that area. Recently I requested the phone no from the ME or authorities in charge, they won't release it. It was partial but we had a group that were willing to try all possible area codes with it. I also found out he was a real redhead and that his sketches were close, not too much guessing at it. I am noone important, I just cannot forget this poor guy. The hitchhiking part was just a guess on law part, the family of the driver didnt know him nor did his girlfriend. thanks for replying anyway. terri

I found a link to the unidentified male. I figured that this was the unsolved case you were talking about, especially since it mentions that the young man was killed in a car accident after attending a 1995 Grateful Dead concert.
