Default Calling Debra "Classy" is quite a stretch

Debra can be considered "classy" only if one considers the following class acts:

1) During a journalism award function Debra raspberried and catcalled Raymond's fellow nominees as they were introduced.

2) Instead of congratulating Ray when Robert "corrected" the results of an intelligence test, Debra whined about the order of the universe being out of synch because she wasn't more intelligent than Ray. When Robert provided the "corrected" results, there was no proof that the "corrected results were inaccurate.

3) Debra couldn't accept that she submitted substandard work during her one day of employment (if Debra has the class many of you think she possesses, maybe she would have lasted more than one day on the job. She certainly didn't exhibit class when it came to accepting constructive criticism from her boss).

4) More than once Debra intentionally spilled food on Ray and she hit him on multiple occasions.

5) Debra was sarcastic with Marie during an afternoon of baking and subsequently claimed to have been nice.

Debra is far from a class act. Ray is a fallible character but he is much classier than Debra. There are certainly occasions in ELR when Frank and Marie exude class than Debra. Then again, Debra doesn't leave a high bar.

You actually had to take the time to write that huh?

Not much of a "contributor" I'd say.

Thumbs up Debra rules

Those examples are pure nonsense. Debra is a class act. She's surrounded by idiots.

She should run for her life, but then there would be no show. She makes the show.

Debra is Greatness!!

Without Debra, that show would be nothing more than a live action cartoon.

1. A Momma's boy in Ray
2. A sulking feel sorry for himself brother in Robert
3. An overbearing mother in Marie
4. A cranky old man in Frank

Debra adds alot to the show to bring it down to earth.

Debra is kind of like the anchor for the show. Without her, you just have a bunch of nutcases. Debra is an all in all good, average person that you could talk to if you met her on the street.

How are my examples of Debra's lack of class pure nonsense? Each transpired on an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond (ELR).

I say that because a list could be compiled about all the nutjobs on the show that shows their lack of class, decency, priorities, etc.

You don't like Debra. I got it, oh I don't know, the tenth time you told us. She can do no right according to you. You take issue because she asks Raymond for help in his own mother's house. That's really reaching.

You're also in the minority in your Debra bashing. Most folks around here love her.

I agree with Contributor, Debra is such a shrew and a pushover for putting up with Ray&Family. There's nothing commendable about watching a woman take it up the a' when she can, and should, leave Ray.

I know Debra is not one of the nicest or classiest TV characters out there, but I think she is the most likable character on this show. Just my humble opinion

I used to love ELR, but now I cringe when I see it on. None of the characters seem to have anything nice to say about each other any more. It's the same stuff over and over again.
