They were just showing a couple of scenes from the reunion on Entertainment tonight, and Rick says that Jo is a cop and she wasn't there because she and another cop from her DIVISION had to take a witness to trial. How cool is that. Jo is a COP!!

This makes me a little nervous. Any fan of the series knows that Jo wanted to be a teacher. It seems very out of character for her to be a cop, and it worries me that the writers would change this just for the sake of making an in-joke. What other continuity will they change just for the sake of being cute?

Word. It saddens me to think that the writers might of just put the "cop" bit in there as sort of a plug for "The Division". Jo was supposed to be a teacher, not a lousy cop...

Just file this one under the same category as Nat's sister and Jo's grandparents. The writers for the movie probably aren't the same ones who did the show so they've probably just seen enough of the episodes to give them a general idea of the characters. Just make some popcorn and enjoy seeing the characters as adults. Remember when everybody was freaking out 'cause they thought the writers were going to kill Jo off? Or would you rather it be centered around her funeral?

I tried to post this last night but couldn't find it under any of the topics. If it's a double post, I apologize.

I know what you guys mean about her wanting to be a teacher and are nervous about other continuity errors that might be in the movie. But I think it's neat how it shows that the characters have evolved. It's been over ten years, and just cuz Jo wanted to be a teacher then doesn't mean that is what she became. A lot of things have happened to Jo(in TV time) since we last saw her, so who's to say she didn't change her mind. People change their minds about what they want to be all the time.
