I saw the man who played alfred on CATM, the guy who needed the map to get to west Cavina in the edpisode where Ed's friend died owing him 500.
I saw him playing a bartender on the Virginian on the hallmark channel last night. |

Is that the same dude that made a few other appearances on CATM?
If it's the same guy, one I remember is when he stopped in when Violet Baines was there (the silent movie actress) and said his car needed worked on 'cause it was "smelling up my joint". Ed kicked his car and then said "you owe me $12.50 for a tune-up!" Another appearance was when he came in to pick up his car right after Chico came back from vacation--the poor guy kept getting ignored, then Chico finally handed him a bucket of water for his car that was overheating! I guess I've never heard of the Virginian..was it a movie or a TV series? |

That's the guy and he was also on the episode where Ed had burcitis in his shoulder and wouldn't go to the dr. he told ed all about his sister who had a wart removed on one finger only to have it turn up on the opposite hand.
Alfred was his name on the show |

The Virginian was first a novel written in 1902. Then it was a movie twice, in 1929 and 1946. It was later a TV series which started in 1962 and ended in 1970, starring James Drury and Doug McClure. It was the first 90 minute long TV drama.

(Good thing he liked Chico and the Man!! )That poor little man, Alfred, always seemed to get bad service whenever he stopped by Ed Brown's garage!

Karen, you sounded like you had a similar upbringing to me. My dad controled the TV (and we were his little remotes back then! LOL) His two favorite shows were Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Star Trek. Cause by the 70's he had to relinquish control to all the teenagers in the house! LOL
BTW that same actor who played Alfred in all the episodes mentioned also played two other characters on CATM. In season 2 he played the District Attorney who came into the garage angry at Miklos in the first of the two episodes with Miklos, and then in season 3 he played one of the CB buddies, I think Lonesome Rabbit, on the New Years episode. |
