I remember i saw dis story in which this guy started to write letters to a woman and in tha letters it said that he knew that she had an affair with da sheriff sumthing like dat. And that he wanted her to tell her husband or he was gonna put it on the front page of the newspaper. Eventually the womans husband found out about the letters and he told his brother and friends about them. they chose to write back saying that they knew who it was to try to scare tha person who was writing tha letters.
But the guy guy kept on writting. Then one day someone1 called their house and the husband picked up, only he knows wut was said cuz he just left like if he knew who it was who was writing da letters.he took his gun with him.The police found his car,he was lying there dead. When they checked his gun, they could tell that he had used a bullet. Well dats most of tha story as i remember.i wanted to know if any of yall remember dis story. its one of my favorites.I also wanted to know if they found out who was the killer. |

You are referring to the Circleville letter case.
I have conducted several searches during the last two years on the internet using different search engines and using other electronic databases and have found no information concerning the letters sent to Mary Gillispie, the August 1977 murder of her husband, Ron or if the writer has been identified. |

The details of the Circleville letters case can be found below:
In March 1976 Mary Gillispie received letters from an anonymous source demanding her to end an affair with a local school superintendent. Mary and her husband, Ron also received telephone calls from an anonymous source. Ron was found dead in his motor vehicle after informing the anonymous caller to end the telephone calls in August 1977. In October 1983, Paul L. Freshour was found guilty of the murder of his former brother-in-law, Ron Gillispie. The evidence at the trial was based on Freshour's writing resembling the writing style of the letters sent to Mary Gillispie. He owned a pistol found in a crude road side booby trap. Freshour was released from Pickaway Correctional Institution in 1994. He was released because letters continued to be sent to Circleville residents during his incarceration and it was found that Sheriff Dwight Radcliff used inappropriate interrogative methods when questioning Freshour. |

I have only obtained Paul Freshour's prison record using the internet. It seems there are no other sources related to the Circleville letters case available through the internet.

Consult the archives of the local newspapers in and around Circleville, Ohio. The advertiser, Circleville Herald and Pickaway County Paper would be the logical sources. If, they not not yield any success consult the archives of the newspapers in larger cities, such as Cleveland or Cincinnati and Columbus. It will most probably involve travelling to the place of business.
