Just bought Christopher Cross last year in bargain basement on cassette and listened to it once. Don't own anything else, but Richie, Saturday Night Fever, Quincy Jones and Thriller had so many singles on the radio (at least 5 form each one) it was like listening to the whole album anyway. Heard most of Songs in the Key of Life and Bonnie Raitt at the record shop so why buy them?

10. Not all are on CD though. Fleetwood (I do have Tusk on CD though, all but 2 Rumours tracks are on "The Very Best Of"), Lionel, Bee Gees (once again, own a Greatest Hits cd that has every song of theirs from the album anyways) and Stevie are on vinyl, and Phil Collins is cassette only.

I might eventually check out the Outkast. While I don't own a copy of Faith or The Bodyguard, I have the Greatest Hits cd's of both artists which include basically every song off each I want

I feel the contrary. Now I'm at a point I won't purchase a cd unless I've heard the whole thing. I wanna know the music is worth my $$$ before spending it. I've purchased quite a few "new albums" lately, but all of them were ones I heard first, whether online or from a friends copy, and it got me to purchase it. I hated always buying cd's that were stuffed with useless filler tracks and had one or two good songs, which were the singles. Do you not buy Greatest Hits cd's?

One of the reasons I think Thriller, Saturday Night Fever, Rumours and Lionel's cd all sold so many copies is because there were so many hits on it, which gave the consumer more of a feeling that they will like the entire cd. The albums that generally still sell over the test of time are the ones that were loaded with familiar songs.

Because it's 70's Stevie Wonder. It doesn't get much better than that.

My girlfriend owns Rumours, but since I never listen to it, I don't count it as mine, even if it is in my house.
