There is a boy in our school who has no friends and everyone thinks he is a jerk. He has always tormented me and my two best friends, and we are absolutely sick of this crap from him! The other girl I know (mentioned in post "How to Deal with a Bigot") and this boy are the only people who ever bother me and my friends.

Today, at recess, my friends Scott, Josh, and I were at recess, minding our own business, and this boy Dan came up to us and said "The three of you took turns having sex with each other last night. You all win gay and sex awards!"

Scott said he would tell on Dan, so Dan punched Scott in the stomach. We reported to a teacher, and the three of us had to talk to the counselor. He has lost recess for a long time and will get a big punishment.

Why do some miserable people take out their anger on others who are well liked people? It is an outrage. From now on we will try harder to ignore him. People like that aren't worth existing.

So Dan says something mean to Scott and Scott threatens to go and cry to an adult about it? Then Dan punches Scott and the three of you proceed to go and tell a teacher. How old are you, five? I can't believe you went and cried to a teacher about it. Tattle much?

Scott should be careful now because Dan may be after him for being a little nark and he may be after you and that other kid as well. If someone narked on me I would kick their ass. Because that's what happens to narks: They get their asses beat.

You just answered your own question. They are miserable with themselves and their lives, so they take their anger out on others.

You can find this behavior in all walks of life -- at school, in the workplace, on the road, in public places such as restaurants or stores....the nasty clerk or customer ahead of you in line. These types go home and boot the dog and scream at their spouse.

It's found on the internet too. People have issues which make them miserable and bitter, so they turn into bully machines, picking apart everything people say, swearing like they have Tourette's Syndrome...being combative and disagreeable at every turn. It's even worse on the web because these types feel real tough from the safety of their keyboards.

The ironic thing is, the decent people know who the mean ones are, and either laugh at them or feel sorry for them. Everyone knows the deal with bullies.

As for bully Dan, of course you did the right thing. What was the alternative? Continue taking his verbal tormenting and violent behavior? Fight back...with the possibility of someone getting hurt?

Dan doesn't seem like the type of person who responds to reason, so let the school deal with him. You say he has no friends. Now there's a shocker, lol, so I wouldn't worry about retaliation.

It sounds as if Dan needs a team of psychiatrists to help him determine why he feels so inadequate, which causes him to inflict pain (both emotional and physical) on others in order to make himself feel superior.

I actually pity these type of people. It's tough enough having to deal with them....even tougher, I would think, actually being them.

You'll find though that quite a lot of the time- it's the opposite, where well liked people root out the miserable, and 'kick 'em while they're down' so to speak.
