Post Who was worse, Danny Cooksey or Mary Ann Mobley?

During the final season, who do you think was the one to blame for it's lack of comedic abilities. I have to say that it was Mary Ann Mobley.

Mary Ann Mobley was a very bad Maggie I thought. Sam never really hurt the series at all...I liked him.

The last 2 seasons of DS were dismal. Like most shows, it limped off the air. I liked Mary Ann Mobley though. Who can you not like a former Miss America? But by bringing Sam in just gave the writers an excuse to rehash old episodes. Like the gooch episode and the bed wetting one. And the stupid Ghostbusters episode. And they axed the show despite it being still good ratings wise. And some such!!

Probably Mary Ann Mobley. But I never really liked sam or maggie, even Dixie Carter. IMO, they both broke the family apart. I would rather see more eps. that dealt with Kimberly's or Willis's problems than Sam's or Maggie's. But tv shows always have to revamp the cast. Which sometimes suck.

I thought Mary Ann Mobley was very sobering and serious and barley said anything that made me go, "Hah..."

It was #75 of 85 shows in it's last season. It replaced Three's a Crowd, a TC Spinoff, on ABC, thpugh it didn't take it's spot, IE, ABc moved on of it's shows from Fridays to Tuesdays on their Sked. Though I love DS, it was a bad move. TAC was #37 when it was cancelled, DS was #42 on NBC and then got rescued by a network who said that was a bad rating. Go Figure!

It was doing so poorly during its final year that ABC didn't even pick it up for a full season (only 19 episodes were done that year, instead of the usual 22). I agree, ABC would have been better off sticking with "Three's a Crowd" for another year.
