I need Love Boat DVD's!!!!! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

When is The Love Boat going to be released on DVD??? If anybody knows who I can e-mail or write to, do tell. It seems like every old TV show is coming out on DVD, except The Love Boat. Even shows that were cancelled after 1/2 a season have been released.

I love watching it on TV Land and I do tape them, but I would love to have the full collection at my disposal.

It doesn't seem like I'm the only one either.

I guess I'll just have to keep on waiting, this message board doesn't seem very busy.

I'd like to have them too. And although it was a top rated show, I don't hear it discussed much. It's the kind of show you can rewatch, because there is so much going on at once.
I'm only guessing, but the fact that there are numerous guest stars in each episode, and often fairly big stars of the day, may present a royalty problem and make the show more expensive to release.
I would put the first few seasons of The Love Boat near the top of my DVD want list, along with Columbo and early Dallas.

Yeah, I think you may be right about that royalty thing! I never thought about that - all those years and so many guest stars!

I Have many episodes on VHS good copys I can put on DVD I can cut out all the commercials and make it look totally commercialess but you would have the tv land logo to deal with so they wouldnt be xlnt copys, it may be better to wait to see if they come out on dvd in the future.

Dont know about jill wheelin and lisa welchel but i think melissa sue anderson showed hers in the one called chubs, where she played gophers sister and fell for doc, i believe i have that 1 i can put on video or dvd, its a tv land broadcast .
