When Kim saw this gruesome man in the mirrors, was he actually there or was she just imagining him? Was the demond actually her mind just going out of control?

She was just going nuts. That figure represented a man who attacked her mother when Kimberly was little and Kimberly witnessed it and killed her mother's attacker. Now you can see why she turned out like she did.
