Okay, sorry. My last post had a link to a modelig website, but I don't know if it would do you much good. It might be worth reading, but it had far more in it than just answers to the only question you wanted. So let's keep it simple.

Expect to get a portfolio with pictures, but do not do that until you've visited agencies and gotten more info from them. I would just get someone you know to take pictures of you--1 head shot, 1 body shot, and show those to the agencies.

I wouldn't pay loads of money. The portfolio will be pricey but after that, nothing should really cost a lot. Here's the thing: Some people are willing to pay extra money to get exposure, but there is no gaurentee that will get them anywhere. A lot of times, places that charge are scams anyway. If you're good enough to model, an agency and modeling work will definitely come without you having to spend money of your own.

Oh, and here's the link to that website. (You can still check it out. But it's mainly for high fashion. You can still do modeling on a lesser scale than having to do everything they say.)

My sister is a model, she's modeled Limited Too clothes in a couple Aaron Carter concerts, lol.

All I haveta say is look into EVERYTHING you do. She did Barbizon and got involved with JMT modeling and IMTA and went to a week long modeling thing in NY. But then we found out she could've done a lot of the IMTA stuff on the net for cheaper but *shrugs*. I dunno if she would have the same results. Just make sure you look into everything and be prepared to spend money on portfolios and classes and be prepared to be willing to give up a LOT of time. Also, if you have younger siblings, espicially MUCH younger ones, that's gonna be REALLY REALLY tough, my mom doesn't work and it was my sister who was 7 at the time, I was 12-13 and the model sister (who was like 10) and it was still really hard.

Even if you aren't tall or thin, you could be a plus size model.

Plus size models are a dime a dozen. There's no money in that.

They get paid just as much as thin models do.

Are you experienced in modeling? No. I am. They get paid by the hour or picture they're in, not by how much they weigh.

isn't it supposed to be the other way around? shouldn't they be paying you for modeling instead of you paying them?
