Default AI Performances that....

...the judges liked/loved but you disliked/hated? (or vice versa)

One that comes right to my mind is Fantasia's "I Heard It Through the Grapevine"...oh man I hated that song. Her voice was okay, but for a lot of times it seemed like she was screaming and I dunno her voice just was kind of annoying at times during that song. And then Randy said it was "brilliant" and Simon said it was superb. I didn't see anything great about that at all...she's done better and they kept on saying that was her best.

Another one I think would be Jasmine's "You're All I Need to Get By". I thought she was too pitchy and struggled with hitting some notes (which was what Randy said) and Simon thought it was her best performance.

hmm..

let's see.

Performances that the judges hated but i loved:
-Jasmine Trias, "Dont Let The Sun Go Down On Me". I was actually expecting her to get good reviews, but she didnt!! Its actually my 2nd gave performance from her.
-Camile Velasco, "Desperado". I know a lot of people, including the judges, didnt like it.. but i did. I dont know why, but i really liked it. hmm.
-Amy Adams, "You Make Me Feel Brand New". They said it was safe, and boring and stuff. I actually thought it was a nice performance. You cant really go over the top with that song.
-Jon Peter Lewis, "She Believes In Me". They didnt like it, but I thought it was really good. It actually is my fave JPL performance.
-Diana DeGarmo, "I'm Still Standing". At first, I agreed with the judges, but then I looked back, and it's a pretty good, solid performance. i just didnt like her going around in the audience

Performances that the judges loved but i didnt like:
-Jennifer Hudson, "Heatwave". I actually thought that was the end of the line for her. It was just way over the top.
-John Stevens, "Lately". Besides Randy, the other judges liked it. I thought it was boring
-Matt Rogers, "Amazed". Paula and Randy said it was his best performance.. i actually agreed with Simon and thought it was just really wrong for him

From last season:
Performances that the judges didnt like, but i loved:
Clay- Vincent
Clay- At This Moment
Kim Caldwell- Knock On Wood

Performances the judges loved, but i didnt love:
most of Ruben's performances

Oh another one for me would be Camile's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Sure, it wasn't great but you could tell how much she loved the song and how hard she was trying. You gotta give her at least some credit for that. And I don't think it was the song to get her voted off....the week before was.

I agree with Kristina and all her opinions.

I agree with David on Clays 'Vincent' performance. I mean, I dont like the song, but he did a good job singing it. Didnt they harp down on him more than they did with John Stevens when he forgot the words? Sure, more was expected from Clay because it was further in the competition, but still..

Hmm.. actually, I agree with Davids opinions too.. especially Diana's and JPL's. And Matts. I found it boring. I think he wouldve made it another week had he picked another song.

And Clays performance of 'At This Moment' was good! Might have been a little "safe" or whatever, but atleast he could sing it well. And dont even get me started on 'Grease'!! Gaah I that performance.

If I remember correctly, the judges loved AI2's Josh Gracins version of 'To Love Somebody'. Well, I DL it a couple weeks ago for comparison and wow, .. no comparison needed. It sounds like he sings with puckered lips.

Oh, here's another I just thought of. Crocodile Rock by John Stevens. Man I loved that! lol okay, so in some spots his voice did really weird things like the first lala part but he had so much fun with it and it was pretty much the first time (well maybe also King of the Road) where he didn't seem like he was completely bored on stage.

I deleted a couple of yours. Those were all GREAT ones... and Matt's was a good song, but he didn't sing it good... until he sang it to Simon

Of course I LOVED Amy's. And Camile's, Desperado was my favorite of hers.

I really loved "She Believes in Me", too. But the judges hated it for some reason.

Yeah, that is what I was going to post if no one else had already. I thought is was cool to see him "come out of his shell" and he did a good job singing too!

Any of Kim Caldwell's performances last year that the judges didn't like. It seemed like the judges had very few good things to say about her after every performance.

Kim Caldwell was my fave last year!!! Randy really liked her, in fact, him and Dianne Warren are producing her album.

It was Simon that always said "you can see that at Six Flags" and the "find your x factor" stuff.. i was always like . It would be such a good thing to see someone with the stage presence of Kim C on this years AI..

IMO, Kim C looked the most like a 'pop star' out of the 12.
