Default Four UM fugitives were profiled on AMW tonight (4/10/04)

Tonight's edition of America's Most Wanted (April 9, 2004) included profiles of four fugitives who have also been profiled on Unsolved Mysteries. They are as follows:

1) Malaika Griffin. She is wanted for the 1999 shooting death of her Colorado neighbor.

2) David Lee Kemp. He is wanted in Oklahoma for the 1998 murders of his ex-wife and her new boyfriend.

3) Rufino Castaneda. Wanted in Indiana for rape.

4) William Peter Fischer. Wanted in New York for the December 1986 murders of his son Billy and his (Billy's) companion Nancy Hyer. (Billy had a degenerative respiratory disease known as cystic fibrosis.)

Griffin was profiled on UM in 2001, while the other three fugitives were profiled on the show in 2002. Their respective profiles can still be found at UM's official site (unsolved.com), so you can go there for more details on each fugitive.

anyone know if any of these people have ever been caught or tracked down etc. I just saw the rufino castaneda segment and this guy really disgusts me. I rarely watch AMW....and ironically i think the last time i did watch was on that night back in 04.

To date, of the four fugitives I listed in the initial post, only Malaika Griffin has been caught. She was nabbed in 2005, and eventually convicted and sentenced to life in prison for killing her neighbor.

Actually Rufino Casteneda was captured back in October of 2007.

Thanks for the info, joshypiano. To correct my initial mistake, so far two people on the list have been caught. Two down, two to go!

I thought the guy perhaps could not see his son suffer with Fibrosis any longer & did a 'mercy' killing before I googled his name, perhaps panicking when his friend said they would go to the authorities, But to put that many slugs in your own kid & to kill an innocent friend of his is beyond sick.

It said her body was nude, so I am guessing he sexually assaulted her either before or after he killed her as well. I hope this piece of garbage went somewhere remote & did himself in.

Christ, I remember this story very vividly. Malaika was a complete militant and hated whites. I think that was the primary reason she murdered her neighbour.
If I rememeber correctly they found a small arsenal in her home with very descriptive journals filled with hate.

Glad the nut job was found. She needs to be buried.

she should be commended. her iron will to fight back and nab this guy was the reason that jerk was caught. that is a very tough thing for people to do under those circumstances.
