well i tuned into AD in the second season and so i pretty much missed jja nd beth in high school.....and in another post someone said beth wasnt catholic. so does that mean she didnt go to East Catholic wit JJ?? so how did they meet did they ever explain that in the show?
its kinda a stupid question, but i was just trying to figure it out...

Beth and JJ met at Beth's parents country club. JJ was a waiter there, and he was waiting on this old man, Trip Crawford (described as creepy by Beth in S1E23). The old man asked JJ to bring him his iced tea out to the squash board. JJ was mad about it, and felt small and all that, then he brought the drink out and saw Beth, knew she was the one, and fell in love.

The best I can figure out this would have been when they were about 15 or 16.

Hey everyone - I kinda fell away from here over the summer, but I'm catching up, now! I know this post is quite old, but I was wondering if the situation you described is in an actual episode? Cause Beth was in the Pilot episode, and their meeting was not depicted at all. I do have the new DVD set, but I haven't watched all the way through it, yet, so maybe if it's in there, I just haven't seen it yet. I have watched all the way up through Colleen, though.....

Just wondered where you got your information and where I should look for it in Season One.

Looking forward to Season Two on Dvd if they ever do that!

Yeah but if I remember correctly the pilot was when Kennedy was shot a couple days before Thanksgiving in 1963.....

Everyone was crying and JJ was hugging a girl and it wasn't Meg cause she was hugging Roxanne and they were still in class......

JJ and the girl he was hugging was sitting on a bench made around like a Water fountain or something looked like it was Beth he was hugging oh and remember I said it looked like not that it was definitely her .......Mel

It is Beth that JJ is hugging. At the very beginning of the season they're together and then they break up.

Season one, episode 23 is where JJ describes how/when he met Beth.
