I stumbled upon this link which is an article on the latest development in the disappearance of Wanda Jean Mays. She was a 26-year-old Alabama woman who vanished on May 12, 1986. According to the article, some bones have been recently discovered, and the authorities are looking into the possibility that they might be the remains of Mays. DNA tests will very likely be done to determine whether or not that is so. The article briefly mentions that the case was profiled on Unsolved Mysteries during the late 1980s. I began watching the show in March of 1989, but so far this case doesn't ring a bell. However, it is possible that it aired before 1989, and was perhaps never shown on Lifetime. I can't be sure, but I haven't ruled anything out in that regard. |

As a close friend of the family and a resident of the guntersville/ arab area i can attest to the fact that Mrs. Mays was misqouted in the paper as were the details of Wanda's disappearance.

Does anyone know if the bones they found turned out to be those of Wanda Jean Mays?
