This is in Lisa's journal today. It is just so beautiful. I don't think I could have put it any other way. I think that it is great that someone so young could write something that could touch me this much. I admit, I started crying when I read what Haven wrote.

September 11, 2001

Dear Mr. President Bush,

"In light of the tragedies of today's events, I will pause from the reporting and posting of pictures from The Facts of Life movie filming. Instead I'm posting the following letter that my daughter, Haven, wrote this evening to our president."

Good day to you. Though that will be hard for you and me because of the sad, sad, miserable crashes that happened today. I started crying even though no one I know got hurt. I hope that God will help me and comfort me and the other people who got killed, severely hurt, or know a friend or loved one who got hurt or killed.

It is so sad that people will die for what they want. I know it is good to die for what you really believe, like Jesus Christ did, but he wouldn't kill other people in the process of saving our sins, would he? No, he wouldn't. He would have called on God, the Father, to not let the others to get hurt. As a matter of fact while the Roman soldiers were killing him he prayed to the Father to forgive them. As you can see I am a devoted Christian and proud of my beliefs.

As I was saying before, it was really sad that one action, in one second could cause so much destruction. The terrorism person killed thousands of lives and his or her own life. I pray that God will help the police find the crooks and give them wisdom what to do with them.

I heard about it when it interrupted "The Little House on the Prairie." At first I didn't know what it was and thought it would go off in a couple of minutes. So I flipped through the channels and it was on every single channel except for two channels. So I turned it off and started knitting. Then my mother came in saying, "America is being terrorized." She turned on the TV and started watching it. I ask her what was happening; she said that we had to go get her hair colored and she would tell me when we got to the salon.

When we got there she explained that there are really bad groups of bullies, world bullies, and they really want something and they would die for it but they don't care if others die because they want it so bad they don't think about other people's lives.

It is very sad. Well, thank you for listening to my story. Good-bye.

PS - I plan on becoming the President of the United States when I grow up. And I'm going to make sure that America is a place of peace and rest, just like my name means. And I'm going to make sure that America is so strong that these world bullies won't even think about attacking ever again.

A day that will never be forgotten because WE will not let it be forgotten.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the friends and families involved in these horrendous acts against humanity. They will NEVER be forgotten. We will NOT let the terrorists cause terror all across our great nation. We will continue, and we WILL survive.

Yesterday is yet another day that will go down in infamy. My uncle was at the Pentagon when it happened, he works there. I Thank God that when I called home during seventh period my grandmother told me he called, he's okay, he got home safe. His wife and my cousin did as well. She works at the White House in the basement for the FBI, and he was at school. I only hope that Haven's prayers come true and God gives the authorities the wisdom to catch these sick, evil-hearted men and/or women and deal out justice in the proper manner. A lot of people didn't get that call that said I'm okay, for them our nation must stop this. The ultimate proof is that even a nine year old can see it.

While I was reading it, what kept coming to mind was what this has done to the innocence of lots of children. Young children, especially those who have close ties to what happened, will probably be forever altered by this. I mean, part of being a child is the feeling of security. And then this happening.....some of them may never be able to feel the safety most of us felt as children growing up. No one (in the US) has ever witnessed something like this before.

it is such a tragedy and a day that will live in infamy...i found out in homeroom but no one quite understood and then in english we watched it and that is when the twin towers clasped...i was crying all i could think about what my family who lives in manhatten and about my family who lives heres, evening though they were ok here in boston it was so many wht if ?'s ran thur my mind and i just broke down~

it is sickening to see this happen and to see the palcestine kids and grown ups cheering when they heard about the plane crashes...thats sick

it is really hard for everyone who no's someone, like myself..espically for people in the northeast, like everyone has family in that area and knows at least one person...i wasnt try to say that it wasnt as bad for people far away from the city but since like everyone here knows somebody, it makes it harder...
