Red face Dumb Songs

Here are a couple of dumb songs off the top of my head:

"Knock Three Times," Tony Orlando. An apartment tenant in love with the woman one floor below him urges her to knock three times on the ceiling if she's interested in him, twice on the pipe if she's not. Question - why can't she just use the telephone?

"The Night Chicago Died," Paper Lace. The opening line is, "Daddy was a cop on the east side of Chicago." There is no east side of Chicago - the lake is east!

"Let'em In," Paul McCartney and Wings. "Someone's knocking at the door, somebody's ringing the bell. (REPEAT) Do me a favor; open the door, and let'em in." A Beatle wrote this??

You hear that sort of thing in a lot of places. That's not my milieu. Rock and roll is good-time music. I love rock. So did my parents.

Steve, I agree with you 100% on "Let 'Em In". The same could probably be said for Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, but the music is so good that it makes up for the lyrics. I just sing along when some of these songs come on the radio and don't know what the hell I'm singing about. Many of my favorite 70's rock bands wrote songs that make no sense, but you have to remember that most of them were high as a kite when they wrote these masterpieces. Pink Floyd's one of my favorite bands, I dig all of their songs but man what were they smoking?LOL
Here's what I'm submitting, and maybe you'll agree with this one:
"Living in a Box" by Living in a Box

Loved the song, but it sounds like they were glorifying being homeless. LOL

Default I actually started a thread like this....

but it got closed after an argument broke out. Que Lastima! (What a Pity!)
Anyways, my picks are:

"My Milkshake brings all the boys to the yard"
"Knookie real good (That juicay juicay)" (It sounds like an ameteaur won a radio contest and got a chance to record their own song in a REAL LIVE studio. LOL)
"In those Jeans" by Ginuwine
"Gigilo" by Nick Cannon and R Kelly
"One and One isn't two"
"It's a piece of sh** car" (a silly reggae parody song)
"Don't mess with my toot toot" (a song from 1985, my mother would threaten to spank me if I sang this song at 7 years old)
"Don't mess with my man/girl" (not entirely dumb, just a little mindless)
"When I'm Five" (By David Bowie)
"Ground Control" (By David Bowie) (A little scary for me)
"Lollipop" by Aqua (a little silly)
"I see you baby...shakin' that a**" (again, it sounds like someone won the ameteur day contest and got to record their own song as a souvenir to take home from a talk show that helps you live your dream for a day)
"Just SHAKE YOUR A**" by Ludacris (The term "Ludacris" describes this song and what is he yelling for? "JUST SHAKE YOUR A**. WATCH YOURSELF")
"Magic Stick" by Lil Kim and 50 cent
"Let me work it" by Missy Elliot

Man that's a pretty bad CD. You're right, that would kill any party.lol However, "Convoy" is one of my guilty pleasure songs. Everybody has at least one corny song they like.

It's one of my favorite as well, so you are not alone. LOL. I agree with the previous post B4 mine about "My Milkshake" it has a good beat, but makes no sense at all and is mindless. "I can teach you, but I'll have to charge".

Two other dumb songs I keep hearing at the store where I work are "Shake Your Booty" by K.C. and the Sunshine Band and "Shake Your Bon-Bon" by Ricky Martin. Enough with the posterior jiggling already!

"Muskrat Love" - good call. Ditto for "Feelings," and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."

am I the only person who likes this song? it's gotten played out but I like almost all of the Kelis album. Go figure the one r&b/hip hop song that's big this year that I actually like that isn't someone like Janet or Prince, is the one that everybody hates

surely you jest? Space Oddity is the song responsible for launching David into the stratosphere. David IMO is the greatest male artist EVER, if you wanna pick a "bad" David song, there's quite a few songs between 1984-1993 that are more fitting for this subject (87 And Cry anyone?)

That reminds me of a few lyrics from Journey's Don't Stop Believin' song:

Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit...

South Detroit?!? You go south of Detroit, you end up in Windsor, Ontario -in CANADA!
