Was everyone supposed to think Fights and Stuff was the last episode?It has many similarities as Life and Stuff the pilot. Roseanne and Dan have a conversation about the last time he made dinner which is the same lines with the years changed.

Why does Dan call his kids failures?

I don't know about DJ, but I think he called Becky and Darlene failures because they both got married young and are "throwing their lives away".

Yeah I noticed that,

Roseanne says"Oh but honey you just made diner 3 years ago"

and the 8 years later in Fights and Stuff-

"oh but honey you just made diner 11 years ago!"

I thought Roseanne said that the only reason Becky and Darlene were failures was because they got married so young. Didnt Dan say that the kids were failures but the only reason Roseanne didnt admit it was because she'd have to admit to being a bad mother?

I always liked the way that those two lines were consistant with eachother. In season 1, she says that he made diner 3 years ago and in season 8, she says that he made diner 11 years ago. 3 (years from season one) + 8 (years later) = 11 (years total)

This is just basically what they said:

Dan: Our kids are failures!
Roseanne: I think they turned out damn good!
Dan: Oh you're just sayin that because to admit they're bad kids is to admit you're a bad mother!
Roseanne: The only way that their failures is because they married so young and threw their life away on a man... just like I did!
Dan: Well, you just have an answer to anything, don't ya?
Roseanne: Yeah, I do.
Dan: Then why don't you tell me how to get rid of this CRAP(knocks stuff off fireplace) you call decoration!?
Roseanne: I want you to pick up all that stuff with your ass, and start with the pointy stuff!
Dan: (says something, flips over coffee table)
Roseanne: (says something, throws Godzilla statue through the TV)
Dan: God, I wish I had never mar-
Roseanne: What?
Dan: Nevermind.
Roseanne: Well that makes two of us. I don't need to take this. I'll be at Jackies.
