What episodes of sitcoms or just jokes or scenes from an episodes of sitcoms will we probably never see again because of 9/11?

We will probably never see an episode of the Simpsons "Homer vs New York", when the Simpsons go to New York to reclaim an impounded car because of the appearance of the World Trade Center.

We will never see a scene from Family Guy (the footage is distroyed) when Stewie sneaks weapons onto a plane saying "I hope Oshama Bin Ladan is not watching."

Also, on an episode of Unhappily Ever After, the episode when the mother dies and returns as a ghost, they were discussing how everyone needs an enemy, and how it is not the same since the fall of the Soviet Union, and they said "Who do we have to fear now? The Arabs?" in a sarcastic way. Actual the Arab joke was edited out in syndication. But if it was not originally edited out, it would be now.

I've seen it. It's aired on FOX 25 in Boston a couple of times.

N@N edited out a couple of terrorist references on Wings, yet they still air the episode where two of the guys had to fight off a would-be hijacker. Weird.

Would this joke count as a joke that won;t be used post 9/11?

On the Jeffersons Mr. Bentley told George_"did you hear about the man who fell from the 89th floor of the Empire State Building and lived to tell about it? And George said no, and then Mr. Bentley said yeah he told the people on the 88th floor, the 87th floor, the 86th floor............

I asked because of the people who fell from the towers that day.

they should put the Simpsons episode on DVD whenever they get to that season.

I can see why that Family Guy episode is offensive, but I do think it has a right to be on the DVD because fans of the show who like it enough to pay for it will understand that it wasn't MEANT to offend, they didn't predict 911 to happen, and fans like complete episodes.

They're not episodes or jokes, but after 9/11, Sex and The City and The Sopranos edited the Twin Towers out of their openings. They didn't completely redo them....just took the Towers out.

I thought I would never see the episode of Seinfeld where Elaine was on a plane and it was hijacked by cubans, but that episode still airs.

I don't think they take the towers out of shows anymore, they are still shown in the Mad About You opening.

Thats because "Mad About You" was long gone by the time 9-11 rolled around.

But it wouldnt make any sense.... Mad About You never took place after 9-11, meaning the Twin Towers were up throughout the entire series run.

Thats like taking All In The Family, and editing out all of the references to Nixon or any other politicians at the time.

When episodes are in syndication -- they should air as they were originally meant to be.

I never understood the point in editing them out anyways. They should be remembered not make it like they didn't exist. I can see if they were being destroyed in a movie or something but in these cases they weren't.

I think the Towers should remain in shows that were aired prior to 9/11.

It doesn't seem right to me to keep them in the openers of current shows....The Sopranos for example.

you still see them in "Friends" sometimes, and in "Spin City".

But, it's interresting that that episode of "The Simpsons" still airs. Because the twin towers were the centerpiece of one part.
