Post Who here doesn't like Beverly Ann?

I loved Beverly Ann she made the last years so funny on FOL! There was no lesson to be learned and no sad serious episodes it was funny! Mrs. Garrett was funny, sometimes, but I like Beverly Ann the best. What do you think?

I wasn't to fond of Beverly Ann. The girls and Beverly Ann never clicked like
the girls and Mrs. Garrett did. I wonder
how things would have gone if Beverly Ann
did not join the cast of FOL?

I'm happy she joined! I can't wait for Ellen to start! I do admit FOL would have been better if Beverly Ann joined sooner!

I think FOL would have gone on longer if Bev didnt join that cast...no offence to the Bev fans. I didnt think the later years were good. After Mrs.G left...I didnt care for it. I think Blair was growing up more, Jo became less sarcastic...I dunno thats JMO

Thumbs down

I know I don't like her cause she's annoying! Here's an expample.

Blair: Beverly Ann, let me tell you something about Jo and her bike. She took it on her first date. She polishes it every weekend, they're inseperable. Like peanut butter and jelly. Ham and eggs.
Bev: Roy and Trigger.
Blair: Bingo.
Bev: And Catholics.
Blair: Right.
Bev: And left.
Blair: Stop!
Bev: And go!
Blair: Please!
Bev: And thank you.
Blair: Get out of here!
Bev: And come again. Oh, I love this game!

The only reason anyone would ever hate me, is because they want to be just like me.

On April 24, 2008, Dana and I are going to meet in LA and handcuff ourselves to Nancy McKeon and Jay Harrington, and you're not. And by the way...this is our own original idea and we do not appreciate people copying us. So don't.

Jinny: Oh, come on, folks, please, don't be shy. Apparently anyone is welcome to crap all over me tonight, so please, step right on up!

Freddy: Now your gonna need a nut doctor!

Darrell: Listen, I don't know what kind of greasy, rubber ***** your sleepin' with...

Check out my Nancy McKeon Supersite!

To each his/her own, I suppose. For me, I normally can't get much laughs out of Beverly Ann, although I can think of ONE time when she cracked me up: In ep 173- "A Winter's Tale."

I thought it was hilaious when she gave "Dwayne" (played by Doug Savant) advice about marriage, and told him a fib about herself being a widow, because her husband was killed by a wild boar. Now that was funny!

alright yea I admit Beverly Ann was a hell of a lot funnier then Mrs G. but I think for some reason I like Mrs. G's personality better.

Talking

I didn't like Beverly Ann as much.(I mean I know that being a Charlotte Rae Fan you would expect that from me, but seriously it has nothing to do with the actresses)ok so it does have something to do with the actresses, Charlotte Rae made Mrs.Garrett believable, not that Chloris Leachman wasn't believable, but the parts were just too different to compare almost.I mean Beverly I would put in the same category as, well, Rose from the Golden Girls, and Mrs.Garrett I would say would be her own category.I mean, when I watc episodes with Chloris Leachman, I think Gosh she's a good actress, because I know that in real life she's probably nothing like Beverly Ann, she's certainly gotta be a heck of a lot smarter than Bev. I just can't imagine that Beverly Ann would be a real person though!I don't know, I guess it's just the part of me that wishes I had someone like Mrs.Garrett to talk to whenever I wanted, but that's just my opinion, I'll quit boring you now and leave...

Yup, I agree with you. I think Mrs. G was appropriate for the time she was on. She was a mother figure who gave advice and helped the girls. But once they were women they didn't really need that person watching over them and giving them advice. I thought Bev Ann fit in quite well, and was very funny. I think she suited what the show needed at that point. Whether Mrs. G had stayed, I think the show would have only lasted a little longer like it did, it had simply run ints course, even though we major fans prolly would be still watching it if it were still going today! LOL, but the actresses had to move on in their lives and branch out. All in all I think the writers and casting people made excellent decisions.
