Debut: Actress-comedian Ellen DeGeneres, who made headlines with her groundbreaking series Ellen, returns to TV in this promising sitcom about a gay dot-com exec from L.A. who moves back home.
Ellen Richmond (DeGeneres) is a successful Internet entrepreneur who, DeGeneres says, “[has] accomplished a great deal, but she didn't really pay attention to...what her joy was.” In the opener, she travels to her small home town for “Ellen Day,” a tribute to her achievements. There she reunites with her ditzy mom and sister (Cloris Leachman, Emily Rutherford), her prom date (Jim Gaffigan) and a former teacher (Martin Mull), whose acceptance and charming quirkiness make her rethink what she wants in life.

I went to the taping of that episode! Cloris Leachman still looks great (for her age!) by the way, if you were wondering why I went to see it being taped, it is because my mother works with Ellen's stepmother, so we were invited

CBS is horrible with TV shows. I think it will flop. I can't wait untill Cloris is back on TV though. She is FUNNY!
