On Sunday my dad and I went on our first bike ride of spring and went to this coffee house downtown that was closed so we figured we would go to the one at another end of town. There was this other guy who was out there waiting like he was expecting the door to open or something. Anyway, this guy started talking to us and went with us to another end of town to this coffee house. My dad and I went in and ordered our drinks and sat down outside at a table. Anyway, we are just like having our drinks and then this guy pulled up a chair to join us. This guy apparently went to the same high school as my dad and knew the younger sister of one of my dad's friends.
Anyway, we just figured we would finish our drinks and would get away from this guy who we didn't even know and got up to leave and got on our bikes and started biking away and this guy says oh, I'll come with you. And, we didn't even invite him. Like, we didn't even know this guy. He started off that his name was Bruce and started telling his life story and how he's been on welfare since 1980 or something. Eventually he went off somewhere else and we didn't see him again, thank God. But, it was just so weird. Has anyone else ever had a weird experience like this? |

I guess he was just being friendly or wanted someone to talk to. I would have felt a little uncomfortable.

People like that are sad. I guess they can't really get people to talk to them, so they just find someone and hang out. They really just need someone to talk to. But ya, I would have felt uncomfortable too.

It's a shame that we have to be so careful nowdays. But this guy sounded lonely and that was probably all there was to it. Who knows who the next serial killer will be lurking? I think that being wary of people like that is probably a good thing. But it is too bad because there are a lot of lonely people out there! Yes, I would have been extremely uncomfortable! You just never know.....................

That's why I'm not real friendly sometimes. I always seem to get stuck talking to weirdos at work and I hate it.
