be released on DVD and give your reason why. My reason is i could not stand the PENNY character. No florida, or James and it seems like they brung in a preteen to be the new star which was very dumb. Penny's role became smaller once florida return.

That's the great thing about DVD's. On the videos, they mixed a lot of episodes up. Some from the first season and maybe one from the late 70's. DVD's are in order. If in fact it does involve Penny, I probably wouldn't buy it either. My reason is that the show was becoming stale. Not sure of the season, but how the comedian JJ supposed to be managing. Was the Sweet Daddy character known as Sweet Daddy when he owned that club? Or about Michael wanting to move in with a white girl of all people. Michael!!! Though her parents did crack me up.

When J.J was managing comedians that was season 4. When Michael wanted to move in with the white girl that was season 6.

After carefully reviewing episode five, No, I will not buy it. For these reasons:

Poppo
Head
Cool Breeze
JJ dreaming that he's white
Gary Coleman- I'm glad they gave him a show. He acted too damn grown on Good Times. On Diff'rent Strokes, he mellowed some, acting more like a kid. He was worse than Dee. There was a thread concerning Michael that is similar to this. Gary was the prime example of someone who acted too damn grown for his age.

BUT, I wouldn't mind having the Fishbone episode along with the Boarder.

HUH???? Poppo, Head, and Cool Breeze was the BEST THING about season five. But they were not seen enough for me to buy the entire season on DVD. They should have been the new characters NOT PENNY

yeah, at least it showed JJ with some friends. Did Michael and Thelma have ANY. Any at all. I'm thinking about this as I'm typing, but I can't remember any.

Michael only had one friend on GT. The guy he and penny rode in the stolen car with that landed him and Penny in jail.

You must keep in mind that just because we don't see veryone's friends does not mean they have the amt you see onscreen. That is nto the major issue of the show. I would like to see season five on DVD for the sake of having it in the collection alhtough I think that is by far the WORST season ever. What was Norman Lear thinking? "Can you do a show without a mother?" He should have never asked that idiotic question. Season Six was MUCH better to me no matter who agrees and disagrees with me because Esther came back mercifully. Can you imagine the shoe ending without Florida? Too much. James' prescence was sorely missed as well. We miss you James.

I would love to see all the seasons of Good Times released on DVD to give people the chance to see the 5th season of Good Times; but on the other hand..I have seen one of two episodes from the 5th season and it was not Good Times Shining moment...

I guess I'm not supposed to respond to this thread, since I disagree with the subject heading, but I would think if you don't want a Good Times season 5 dvd, just don't buy it. Why should it not even be released just because you can't stand a character? That's your issues. At least give people who'd want the option of getting it if they like. So they should release season 4, skip season 5 then release season 6? That's what's dumb.

I'm currently recording UNCUT eps of season Five on TV ONE. But i would not pay for them. So If I'm able to get them another way then i will do that.
