Default Closing Theme

The closing theme of Alice sounds horrible. Who sings it? What was being done to them to make them be in so much pain and sound that way?

In the first few seasons, I believe that the person who sang the closing theme was the same person who sang the opening theme, Linda Lavin. La la la la la la la la la la la. In later seasons, an instrumental was used for the closing theme.

The closing theme to the show well from 1976-1978 it was Linda Lavin Humming la la la la... from 1978-1979 Linda Lavin sang the ending theme which i agree was pretty bad.. and them instrumental theme's were used from 1979-1985 to the shows finish.

I don't know if this is what the original poster was referring to, but the worst is the closing theme for the first few episodes of 78-79. Unlike previous years, where Linda "la-la"-ed the melody, there's an instrumental for the melody (I think it was a tenor sax). But Linda kind of moans along to the whole thing, with no real words, just sounds like "Ohhhhhhhhhhhh" and "Woaaaaaaaaah". Sitcomsonline has the same instrumental (listed as the 1978 closing theme), but without Linda's moaning. Too bad, because it must be heard to be believed; it's almost like they followed her into the bathroom and recorded it in there.

and had to stay with mel i believe and they only used that theme once i believe because it was so bad.

That episode, "Take Him, He's Yours" aired on Ion tonight. I'd like to have the honor of uploading that end theme to Sitcoms Online.

That's the only episode with that version. The rest of the 3rd season ones have "There's a New Girl in Town" lyrics, except for "Mel's in a Family Way", which has a completely different instrumental closing theme.
