Which opening do you like better? I like the scattered picture one, I was used to the one where he comes in the door because I am excited to see whether he falls on the footstool or not. Today, I saw one where it shows scattered pictures of Dick Van Dyke, when it shows pictures of the person the announcer announces.

I didn't know this one was the original, though. I thought it was different and nice.

I like it when he trips, but I've always wondered why Buddy and Sally were there before he was!

I like all of the openings, but I do always look forward to when he trips. Since buying the DVDs though, I have to say that I really like the different version of the theme song that plays with the scattered pictures opening and when you first put in the DVD. I love the more familiar theme song when it plays during the closing credits. It seems a little snappier than when it plays during the opening--I love that drum!

What about the fourth opening from the third season where Rob stops short of the Ottoman but trips on the carpet just after that?

I'm fine with any opening, because whether he trips, sidesteps, or if the photos fall out of the folder, it's still a great Dick Van Dyke show episode that will follow. But, after seeing the forth opening when he avoids the ottoman, but then stumbles on the carpet, I have to say I'm kinda partial to that one because it's different and sort of combines the trip and sidestep versions, if you think about it. It's a nice change of pace. Actually when I first saw it, I wasn't paying much attention, and when he stopped, I figured it was the sidestep version, but then I realized everyone was wearing different clothes and were positioned differently in the living room. Then, when he stumbled on the carpet, I realized "Hey, this is totally different....a third variation of the ottoman opening!" I loved it.

I like the opening with all of the scattered pictures. It's a nice change after watching the other openings for a while. The music is nice too. LOL. I like the other openings too though, don't worry!! LOL.
