Default How many lost episodes are there?

Hi I'm new so forgive me if this was asked already.

How many lost episodes are there? I'm guessing some were lost forever or are in very poor quality and can't be shown, but don't the fans of this show get tired of only seeing the same 39 episodes over and over? If they edited together the Honeymooners bits from Jackie Gleason's variety show wouldn't they have a good 100 or so other episodes that could be syndicated?

In that case, WPIX shows 20, 30 or 40 more "Lost Episodes" of "The Honeymooners" except the same show also has the "Classic 39". I know that WPIX showed these episodes out of order.

To be honest, I've repeatedly have seen the classic 39 and and have yet to get tired of them.

I remember that here in NYC in the early 80s wnew 5 would air hourlong shows on Sunday nights with The Honeymooners characters in color that looked like they were produced in the 1960s. Some would have them breaking into song and dance routines. I guess because these Honeymooners skits on Gleason's show varied wildly in terms on length and tone it would be hard to package them as a synidcated series.

WNEW (WNYW) Channel 5 usually ran "The Color Honeymooners" from the late 60's since it was on back in the early 80's. You're right again. It will now be shown on Goodlife TV on weekends.

i have counted 74 lost episodes by going to tv tome and adding up all the eps on their episode guide starting from 1952 through to 1957 leaving out the classic 39 of course plus there were a few specials that were included in the vhs/dvd release of the lost episodes

so all up there were approx 78 to 79 "lost episodes"

i have seen multiple sources listing these two amounts so i would say that this is a fair indication of how many there are the whole thing can get confusing with all the specials/colour episodes etc so if you go to tvtome and check out theie episode guide or honeymooners.net they both list nearly everything that was ever made leaving out a few things which were lost or never kept

i hope this helps

By the way, WPIX is showing "The Lost Episodes". I can watch it on my DVR if I can wake up and in spite of that, Goodlife TV airs the color ones which is still "The Lost Episodes".

are the colour episodes counted as "lost episodes" too i didn't know that (did jackie have these hidden as well?) in that case there must be over 100 eps all up!

Check it out! There are about 70+ episodes from "The Lost Episodes" since it was first aired back in 1985 and 40+ episodes from "The Color Episodes". It all adds up to about 100 episodes.
