Cool Carole Ita White

The woman who played Rosie Greenbaum (you know, who married the proctologist) turns 62 years young today, according to at least one source!

, CAROL !!!

Depending upon which source one trusts, I have heard from several different places that Carol Ita White passed in the 1980's. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Imdb.com and TVTome.com have no information on her ever dying.

Isn't it funny that BIG Rosie is an April Fools baby!

Happy Belated Birthday to her!

There was a lot of confusion among L&S fans about this a while back. It turned out that it was a different Carol White who had passed away, not the one who played Rosie.

Thanks for the explanation. What is "our" Carol Ita White up to these days? I've not seen her on anything since "Laverne and Shirley."

And a quick note about being dead!....
An English actress, Carol White, passed away in the 80's I believe.
She was a well respected actress...who made movies in England.
I'm alive and working on a play in Los Angeles. I was away from the business for some years...and am happy to say I'm back doing the thing I love--acting.
I'm also quite a poker player, if I say so myself!!!
Best wishes to all the Laverne and Shirley fans...and thanks for remembering me!

Hi Carole Ita! I loved your character on L&S. I thought she was a riot! Any plans to be part of an L&S reunion? I know us fans would love it.

Good luck on the play!

Thanks you for posting on this board, Carol Ita. Also, thanks for giving us all so many laughs as Big Rosie, and also as the "tough girl in the pool hall" in one of the first season eps. The simmering hostility between Rosie and Laverne were some of the funniest moments in the show.

Respectfully,

Shotzette

Hi...And thanks for the kind words...
I have no plans to reunite with L&S...Not as Big Rosie anyway. They made a reunion show I believe and didn't feel it necessary to bring Rosie back...
I was disappointed, of course, because I thought it would have been fun to be able to bring Rosie back to life. It's been so many years now ...but I think that Rosie is still back in the old neighborhood throwing her weight and her bucks around. My best to you...

Hi Shotzette...You're right about the old episodes being some of the funniest.
When I did "raunchy girl 1" (my character's name in the pool hall episode) Garry Marshall and the other producers like the idea of having someone for Laverne to fight with besides Shirley. So the brought me back as Big Rosie.
Someone Laverne and Shirley could gang up on together...Anyway...
those early episodes gave many Hollywood heavy weights their beginning.
Robert Hayes, Mark Harmon, Brian Denehey, and a director that went on to direct so many shows--Jim Burrows (Cheers, Friends, Will and Grace and hundreds more.)
Anyway, I can't tell you how great it is to be remembered, and to have been associated with a show that brought so many people so much laughter.
Take Care...and thanks again.
