Angry No commercial breaks between shows

Does this irritate anyone else?

I know normally commercial breaks suck but when you have to change a tape in between shows and there is no break it means you miss the beginning of the next show.

This happens on ABC A lot, like tonight with 8 Simple Rules leading into I'm With Her.

Even a simple small "Lifetime, it's for Women" commercial would be great.

On my left, I saw days upon days of lipstick and ticking clocks, dirty looks and quiet whisperings. And burning secrets that just won't ever die away. And on my right, what could I picture? The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

Have you ever thought about getting a DVR? They're great! You don't have to worry about changing tapes.

I agree. It does make taping hard. But that little break helps. GSN does it too.

TVL is the only network I know of that doesn't stack their shows ending to beginning with no break.

Yeah, their is NO time in between shows to change tapes, that irritates me too.

on the DVR note, I think i'll wait till the price drops, or until the PS3 comes out.

I can't do DVR, at least any time in the near future. I can barely make ends meet as it is, that is something that is not feasible to me.

Glad to know it irritates someone else too!

That doesn't bother me as much as networks starting shows a little bit before or after the hour. ER usually starts at 9:58 PM instead of 10 PM.

Also, is it just me, or are there more and more commercials? When I watch The Simpsons, it seems so short and full of commercials.

When I do something like that... I usually just record both shows on the same tape. My biggest complaint with that was on ABC Family when I was recording Family Matters and Step By Step. They air back-to-back, and there's no break in between the shows. The only break really is the closing credits on a split screen for 30 seconds.

TV Guide explained once that NBC airs it shows at like 9:59, etc. so that you won't leave their network to view another station.

Hallmark channel does the same thing, I tape Little House on the Prairie, and they go right from the Waltons to Little House with no commercial breaks, I kinda like it better

And am I the only one who doesn't want a DVR? I have my DVDR and I'm fine with that.

Yeah...they stole that from TBS, who since dumped their 5 min offset.
