Thumbs up Deadwood

Hey kids, TJL here.

I was wondering if anyone has been watching HBO's newest drama "Deadwood."

I must admit I wasn't very interested in seeing this show, but I caught a mini marathon of eps 1&2 last night on HBO2 and I am hooked.

It's a really bleak, violent, dirty (and probably realistic) view of life in the "old west" in the lawless town of Deadwood.

It aint "Bonanza," if you catch my drift.

It has some great characters and some great actors, and Kieth Carradine plays real life gunman Wild Bill Hickock.
Not to mention it has one of the most vile evil bad guys ever to rule a town with an iron fist.

If you can stomach the not so happy portrayal of frontier life (again, it aint no "Little House") Deadwood is for you.

Oh, there is lots of foul language (apparently the "F" word was as popular back then as it is today) so viewer discretion is advised.

Caught a few episodes and could'nt get into it. I can believe the 'F' was popular I would also imagine alot of other thing popular today were as equally popular then also, but come on I think the writers have opted fo an easy way out with so much cursing after awhile it just gets annoying. It's like being around a bunch of kids who are learning how tho cuss -pick your spots that's what I would say to the writers and producers. The show itself wasn't bad,but I won't go out of my way to watch

anyone see the preview for that new show entourage? I can't remember if I saw it before Sopranos or Deadwood though.

I wonder how they pick they writers for this show,by asking them how many times they can use the word F*** in a 3 minute scene and still get the idea across?

I wonder if the f-bomb frenzy will continue with entourage.

Do you think the first season of Deadwood will come out on DVD?
