Omar was very funny in this show. He played a somewhat brickheaded ballplayer Earvin Rodman (I guess they combined the names of Dr J and Dennis Rodman). Jennifer Lewis was his mother. She did her usual diva bit in the part and you could believe that she had him under her thumb. There is an episode where he finds out that his father is a white man and another where he is competing in a school quiz competition and the question is "Who killed Martin Luther King" and he replies without much thought "The CIA". LOL
In the very last episode Gooding gives a funny performance when he is repeatedly chased around a restaurant by several women who think he made dates with all of them at the same time. Bumper Robinson was also in this show as a ballplayer in the first year, but good gosh this guy is a horrible actor. He recites his lines in sitcoms like he's reading some grand speech from Shakespeare. He must be related to someone pretty powerful in Hollywood to keep getting parts. Even if women like his looks his acting is very poor. |

LOL@what u said about Bumper Robinson hahahahahahahaha. That is so true about him. He does recite his lines like he's auditioning for a Shakespeare play LOL. I can't believe he's from my hometown Cleveland. Cleveland, Ohio doesn't have that many lame black people & he seems like a lame dude.

I don't remember him too much from this series. I used to like Cooper when it was syndicated. As for Bumper, people said he is good just not good in A Different World. They might be right. I'd have to rewatch his work in this show, Amen or other shows to really say for sure.
