this show is really worth rewatching - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hi I'm new to the boards.

This show really stands up to repeat viewings. This is the type of show that I can watch with the sound off and still find interesting things to look at on the screen: the step dancing in the background in a lot of the scenes, the fashions and hairdos (watching an episode from 1991 I was surpised to see so many extras with dreadlocks, I don't remember dreads really becoming fashionable until the late 90s- prior to that dreads were associated with rastafianism).

One very remarkable thing about this show is the continuity which was very consistent. There is an episode in year 3 where Col Taylor and Mr Gaines go to some sort of reunion and Col Taylor meets a girl he used to have a crush on who is played by Denise Nicholas. He mentions to her that he has two children, Suzanne and Terrence. At that time, Suzanne was no longer on the show and Terrence wouldn't show up in person until the following season. I enjoy seeing the last season because in almost every episode they refer to somehting from the earlier years.

It surprises me how I've seen every episode but on some episode don't remember the plot.
