Default Nick@Nite 1st Quarter 2004 (Jan-Mar) -- Highest Rated Ever!

Nick at Nite Draws Record Audience Levels, Scores Its Most-Watched Quarter Ever in First Quarter '04

Santa Monica, CA, March 30, 2004 - Modern classic sitcoms continue to capture audiences as Nick at Nite scored record breaking viewership levels for First Quarter '04. First Quarter 2004 (12/29/03-3/28/04) has given Nick at Nite its most-watched quarter ever in its target demo, with an increase of +14% among its target demo, Adults 18-49 and up +13% among total viewers. The network also ranked as the most-watched basic cable network among total viewers, in the A18-49 demo, among W18-49 and Adults and Women 18-34 during its programming hours.

"Nick at Nite continues to perform at peak levels," states Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land and Nick at Nite. "With shows like Roseanne, Full House and The Cosby Show, viewers continue to embrace these sitcoms more than ever."

Driven by the strong performance of its programming line-up, Nick at Nite finished the quarter with a 0.6/635,000 among its target Adults 18-49 audience during its total day (Sun.-Th. 9 p.m.-6 a.m.; Fri./Sat.10 p.m.-6 a.m. ET/PT), up +20% in rating over last year. The network's average 1.4 million viewers in total day gave Nick at Nite its biggest audience levels ever for a quarter, besting the network's previous record in Fourth Quarter '03 among A18-49 (604,000) and Third Quarter '02 among total viewers (1.3 million).

Nick at Nite 1Q'04 Performance Highlights:

- The family comedy Full House (Sun.-Thu. 9 p.m. ET/PT) continues to draw viewers, posting a 0.6/659,000, up +20% in rating and +30% in delivery among Adults 18-49. Full House averaged 2.4 million persons 2+, a rise of +30% over last year in total viewers.

- Nick at Nite's 11 p.m. (ET/PT) showing of Roseanne (Mon.-Sun) posted a 0.7/769,000, a +40% ratings increase and up +58% in delivery over last year. Among persons 2+, the show delivered 1.5 million viewers, a +28% lift over prior-year levels.

- The network's "Sitcom Sendups" marathon (3/23/04 from 10 p.m.-1 a.m.), featuring episodes of Roseanne in which she parodies classic TV sitcoms, posted a 0.7/732,000, a +40% increase in rating and a +36% increase in delivery vs. last year. The network drew an average of 1.6 million viewers, a +32% rise from last year.

- An average of 954,000 persons 2+ tuned in to the 4 a.m. showing of Cheers (Mon.-Sun.), up +6% over last year. Among Nick at Nite's target Adults 18-49 audience, the show earned a 0.6/581,000, up +20% in rating and +14% in delivery over last year.

Currently seen in more than 88 million U.S. homes, Nick at Nite features timeless hit comedies: The Cosby Show - this Emmy Award-winning sitcom is the network's highest-rated show; Full House - this popular family comedy launched on the network in October and Roseanne, one of the most-talked about and celebrated sitcoms in television history.

I always wondered how many people actually watched N@N overnight like that.

I want to be the President of N@N/TV Land. Wouldn't that be fun?

It says TCS is the highest rated show.... but theres no mention of exactly what its ratings are.

Either way, in a way this is good -- people still watch classic TV.
But in a way its bad -- its not all that old.

The President of N@N grew up in the same neighborhood as Bill Cosby

Yeah, then would you put Three's Company back on N@N?

haha.... good point is right.
as much as i like TCS.... im getting sick of it.
i think i may have seen every episode.
and this isnt even a show that i religously watch.

Eventually.... i can see TCS's ratings plummit once everybody realizes they seen EVERYTHING before.

Unless there are some TCS die-hard fans out there, I think you're right.

I like the show.... its in my top 5....
but I definately wouldnt call myself a diehard fan.
Sure Id buy the show on DVD.... but I still think it airs WAY too much.
And for many.... it has killed the show.

Yeah, I agree with you on the last point. I myself don't like the show (except for the ep with John Ritter & Amy Yasbeck) and I'd really like to see them put Three's Company in its place. OK, if they HAVE to have Cheers on there (yeah, like they have to) then all I'm asking is for them to replace an hour of TCS with Three's Company. *To N@N & TVLand* Is that to much to ask??

Wow, Roseanne is number 2 on the network! It's funny that it's under TCS because that's the show is overtook in the ratings in 1988 to become the number one show.

Either way, it's great, although this does diminish its chances to be released on DVD.

Why buy that show on DVD when you know you can watch the show on dozens of channels, several times a day? Seems like a waste of money. I could understand if it was a show that doesn't air much, but come on, we're talking about a show that airs more than anything else.
Do you ever stop whining about The Cosby Show?
