Are there any statistics for how many dvd sets have been sold for Sanford and Son compared to other TV series which have been sold???? Sanford and Son is really one of the few "classic," older TV shows which has been released year by year on dvd sets. While we see CURRENT shows such as the "Sopranos," "Buffy," et al. get issued at a very rapid pace, classic TV shows rarely ever see the light of day when it comes to dvd sets. How many classic tv shows have yet to be issued while shows that are current get their own season sets left and right?!!?! Even when a "classic" tv show gets issued on dvd, how many have we seen stop at Season One??? (e.g., Mary Tyler Moore, SWAT, Baretta, etc.) And yet Sanford and Son is a true success story when it comes to "classic" TV shows. As of today, its' first four seasons are now available on dvd. So my question is this: Numbers/Statistics wise, where does it stand in comparison to other tv shows in regards to dvd sets sold??? It must be very popular or else why would they keep issuing the season sets???? Contrast that with Mary Tyler Moore, that season one bombed and no more seasons were issued. Sanford and Son must be a real success story when it comes to classic tv shows.
