I know this sounds like a pretty stupid question to the real M*A*S*H fans but I was wondering, what happend to Frank Burns? Thanks!

Frank was upset after Margaret got married, so Potter sent him on R&R. While he was gone, the 4077th kept receiving reports of his deranged behavior. He was finally arrested, promoted (I'm not sure why), and transferred to a V.A. hospital in Indiana.

he was promoted and transfered because, to quote Hawkeye "the Army, in all it's infinate wisdom" deccided to do it.

He was trannsfered to a Veterans hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana (his home town)
