Default "north by north dipesto"

"well, did you at least get a nice dinner out of it?"

with this episode, they should have figured out who the stars were. i really did not care for this episode as it put dave and maddie into the supporting role. agnes gets the starring storyline and as agnes goes, it gave me no rhyme or reason.
maybe it was a good experiemnt, but that's is all for me.

rating: 2

I didn't mind them centering an episode around Ms. Dipesto, as long as it was maybe just once a season. It seemed like in the last two seasons that there were several episodes based around Agnes & Herbert and I didn't like that too much.

believe it or not, i am the opposite. i didn't care for this one, or the one with imogene coca (wasn't it?). but when i first heard that moonlighting was beiong cancelled, i sorta hoped that they would have a spinoff show with agnes and herbert as the stars doing their own detective series. maybe more of a comedy, yet keeping the characters in a growing capacity from their moonlighting days.
i think it would have been better than sledgehammer and some of the other shows at the time.

Bobby, THANK YOU FOR POSTING! *gets all dramatic* It's been so long!

I remember this episode...hated it. I really dislike it when shows don't understand why people love them and center episodes around the wrong people. Agnes and Bert are great supporting characters, but that's all. That's why my SN is david&maddie4ever, not agnes&bert4ever.

'ello luv. still here, but wondering where you had gotten to. i started to watch the next episode and fell asleep during it. haven't had time to rewatch it.

not to be overly negative on here, but the role of agnes should be allowed to progress and grow. BUT, in a timely manner. not to just be thrown out there. allyce did well in her role, but the writers can only be so creative with supporting characters without moving them up to main characters. she didn't have time to grow.
but by the time herbert got on the show, the character had grown enough to warrant extra time and storyline. and it worked great.

this reminds me of nurse kelley on M*A*S*H. a great character and actress. but she only had one episode where she was part of the story other than a face in the crowd or maybe one or two lines to say. i do wish they did more with her. but they didn't allow her to grow as they did klinger and father mulchahey.

I was away for awhile because my aunt died last week, and I had to go to two days worth of wakes and a funeral. But hey! I'm back in action now!

BTW, I agree with what you said about not giving the characters enough time to grow. I never understood why they would make an episode like that if they hadn't fully established them yet. One of the few flaws of ML.

Yeah, I'm alright. It was actually my mom's aunt, so she was older...I think she was 77. She had cancer for two years, and a few months ago, she had a stroke, so it was just a matter of time. She's better off, though...she was really suffering.

this was mostly an episode about the receptionist.

favorites for me:

david describing the band at the banquet as - who's idea of being hot is to play 'born in the usa' on the accordion.

david describing maddie with the acronym UMS-Urgently Missing Sex.

That was my favourite part too.

I quite enjoyed the whole epidose. It was funny and more lightweight, a break from all the tension. Some nice moments with Maddie and Agnes too.

But not enough David

Looking forward to getting back to normal tomorrow with "In God we strongly Suspect"
