Default Would a Spinoff with Larry have worked?

How long do you think it would have last? Do you think the Larry character could have carried his own show?

Larry was a great character but I don't think he could have carried his own show. Richard Kline was great because of the chemistry he had with John Ritter. I think he should have went to Three's A Crowd.

Yeah that would have worked better. Some other Three'sCompany character should have went along with him. Either Felipe or Larry should have went along.

Why would Jack and Janet share a one bedroom apartment over Jack's restaurant??? Did you forget they were platonic friends

Yes, but some of us wanted Jack & Janet to fall in love and get married! That would have been a GREAT show! Especially if Larry was in it too!!

Yeah it's ok to say you wish Jack and Janet was a couple but when someones askes-Why Janet wasn't in Three's a Crowd. i would think everyone who watched Three's Company would know why. Now a better question would be why Janet never made a guest appearance on TAC. Everyone may not know the reason for that.

Her character wasn't needed for TAC. I don't know why Joyce couldn't understand that. All the others cast members accepted that their characters were not needed and moved on.

Then why did the show only lasted one season!? I think she was needed! If she would of been on TAC the show would of probably lasted more then one season! It was REPLACED b/c audience probably thought it was bording w/out her! Vicky and Jack were bording!

well.......the show obviously didn't last for one reason, and that reason was because Janet was not there. The co-producer of TAC even said the show didn't make it ---cuz the whole world wanted to see Jack and Janet together. Jack and Janet lived together for 8 years, and then all of a sudden she is gone .....out of his life forever. Shoot, she didn't even need to be his romantic partner on TAC.........her character just needed to exist. They didn't have to share a one bedroom apartment......Janet could have gotten her own apartment close by and still just been a platonic friend of Jacks. They were best friends, you know. Joyce even said herself that she may not have even filled the position on TAC if she would have been asked, but that her character (whether it was romantic or platonic) still needed to exist for that show to be successful. I completely agree with her, and I don't think that she is still hovering over the issue of not being part of TAC. She was upset by the way John and the producers handled telling the cast about the show.

Anyway---I don't think any of the characters could have done a spinoff alone that would have been successful. The whole cast of TC played a very important role to thier success, and that was proven when TAC did not last after one season (with the "STAR" of TC).

AND---yes, Jack and Janet should have gotten together in the end. STUPID PRODUCERS!!!!!

The show only lasted one season because it went up against the A-Team. And the A-Team was ranked as the 6th best show during the 84-85 season. So are you telling me more people would have watched TAC if Janet was there? I think not.

I really don't think Janet would have made a difference. The last season of Three's Company had her and the show wasn't ranked in the top 30.

Exactly. Plus is she was married on Three's Company, why would she be added to TAC? Guest Appearance Yes, Cast member No.
